I know there's no DEAL-deal, but it's hot and important for anyone about to buy

So what IS the current Q6600 MSRP?
 
So MSRP, on the Q6600, is dropping $43 from current $266? That is good news, but there have been deals already w/ it even lower ($199 @ Microcenter, $179 @ Frys). But yes, good to see prices dropping. Especially the Q6700, since it puts it more in line w/ where it should be.

you'd have to pay me more than $41 to pull a working chip out of my computer for basically no good reason.

this looks promising though. it's about time the price dropped again.
 
not bad on a Q6700. sucks the Q9450 isn't really dropping all that much ;)
 
Where did you find this information? $43 for a quad-core is ridiculous. It's almost monopolistic-like business practices against AMD.

Its a $43 price drop from the current MSRP, not the price of the chip itself.
 
I found it funny that when i went to microcenter, the 199 dollar q6600s are only the b3 revisions. Which is why they can sell them so cheap, they are the shitty chips.

I found it funny that my chip is SLACR, and so is every one that I've heard of sold during the sale.

I lol'd please dont spread misinformation. Your own experience doesnt = every Microcenter selling these.
Got the G0 Stepping from MC and along with the 3 people in line with me when I bought mine. Make sure you ask the salesperson for nothing less......unless you're really unlucky and your store has all b3 (doubtful).
 
All my money for April 20th is appropriated. Take that how you will.
 
Cant even find some of the chips at these supposed prices so Im not that excited about this list.
 
Man, I guess I should wait to get an e8400 until the $2 price drop.
 
I was thinking of getting a Q9450,but maybe I should wait a bit for the Q6700.Are there two different stepping models of it like the 6600?Seems a G0 version would overclock much better than the 9450.
 
I don't feel bad at all for buying the 9450 now instead of waiting to see what the price drop would yield.

I was disappointed with the fact that everyone focused on the misunderstanding about the price and totally skipped over the fact that one of the largest price drops was the Q6600 which will be in direct competition with the Phenom 9000 series. Almost all the other chips are only being discounted a few dollars (less than $10).

Anyone who has not picked up on the fact that Intel is trying to kill or seriously maim AMD needs to remember how bad some of the previous chips from Intel were.

well. its a 2 way street.

if you want everything brand new, yes, thats still a deal, as 680i LT boards are about $150 brand new, plus about $220 for the Q6600, and then another $40 for RAM, and you'll need to factor shipping at minimum for all those pieces, idk if you get taxed on PC parts in your area.


however if you went used, you could get a quad for about $200 with the micro center deal, and then get a used 680i board for about $100, and then RAM for about $30 used...
and shipping is usually included, and you won't get taxed on those parts.

so you'd save $90 at minimum. and i saw a 680i board for sale here the other day for $80

dude, for the cost of a q9450 in the past you can now get a q9450 + 2 cheeseburgers (perhaps this is where the 4/20 relationship comes into play). this is epic
