HOT!! Intel Core i5-12600K $250 (MC in store only)

in my brain, i read that as I5-2600K for 250. which wasn't even a real chip (either i5-2500K, or i7-2600k). but shows how supply chain has screwed up my perspective.

There are reviews out there showing the 12 series performing similarly between 10 and 11.
I get it, but just saying from an official stand point the scheduler for 11 is specifically tuned for Alder Lake.

Too bad the DDR5 RAM is 10x the cost of the CPU itself. It seems stupid to buy these until DDR5 shores up, at least if you're trying to get a deal or care about future-proofing.

There are some problems with Alder Lake and Windows 11 in certain games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
10 works better there.

See the graph just after 5 minutes in...

edit: I should mention that he believes the game is the issue here not so much the OS. Some games don't show this.

My microcenter has no DDR5 in stock, so the news Intel chips seem pointless to me right now.

Yes faster, but the whole ecosystem needs to mature a bit.
