Awesome, I needed a new backup. Thanks Musky!

If I didn't have a few of those laying around I'd totally snag one haha. Thanks Musky! :)

Just found some cpus that people might be interested in.
See ebay item number 320689025681
No, it's not me selling these.

These are the AD5000ODJ22GI chip which is listed as a AMD x2 5000+ but they are in reality a Deneb quad core with the L3 cache and 2 cores disabled.
Right now there are 6 left, but may go fast.
The seller has a typo in the part number. They forgot the "O" after the AD5000, so it's hard to find. I just stumbled across the listing by accident.

I bought one and it unlocked to a quad core. YMMV of course. Price is $40.95 so not too bad if they unlock like mine.

One downside to these is that they have a low multiplier of 11, so it is hard to get a really high overclock. I am not sure how fast these would need to run to get bonus points with SMP.

More details here: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Athlon X2 5000+ - AD5000ODJ22GI (AD5000ODGIBOX).html

Also note these are AM2+ and support DDR2 only.

You might have a tough time getting 100k out of those. Talk about low multi

Wouldn't 2 x 2600k rigs be a better deal?
2 x 2600k 50kppd each $500 each? 230W each
E5620s with sr-2 100kppd $1200+

Well I have a rig with a Supermicro X8DHT-6F and 24GB of RAM but dual E5606 CPUs. Thinking this is a significant and relatively low cost upgrade for me. Rig does not fold currently but may at some point.

I'd go for it, particularly with how loaded the rest of the server is. I bet you could sell your other chips for that much.

agreed

the L5620s would be a performance upgrade and they would probably use less power as well.

2x4gb Gskill DDR3 1600 for $59 if you are eligable for the customer appreciation code. You can pack 24gb into an x58 or 2p board for under $180 bucks and these sticks are supposed to be great for overclocking. Really takes away alot of the rationale for 2gb sticks...

it won't link properly but ebay.co.uk item 280692731479. 2 x xeon x5550's for £249

Not a hot deal in strict bang for the buck but FS/FT has 3 of the Palit 3gb 580's for a bit over $500 a piece. These are THE best cards for high resolution surround gaming and are excellent folding gpu's as well. You can run maxed AA on 3x 30'' monitors and still not exhaust that 3gb frame buffer.

Sorry about the formatting. It is due to the [H] referral link given. If we are buying EVGA, let's at least help Kyle pay the bills. ;)

Someone was posting about cheap x58 boards in Bstk @ CDW in the Hot Deals forum(I believe it to me backstock that wasn't purchased prior to being discontinued), and I was just looking at motherboards in general, and saw it. Unfortunately, I'm getting married, and don't have the resources at the moment to purchase it. GL if anyone does!
