I use microsoft security essentials. Free download from microsoft. Seems to work pretty well. Replaced mcaffee and trend micro with it.

Any thoughts on avast? I have the free version but am open to better stuff.

Also: Is this website legit, or paid for by one company or another? Thoughts?

I use Avast but it bypasses Windows Firewall settings. I hear it's a problem with other firewalls as well. It's got something to do with Avast Webshield.
