hosting an ftp server

i have an ftp server going where i plan to host my images and the like. if i were to post a couple big images on a forum that gets visited a lot, will i be expecting an email from comcast asking why my bandwith just shot through the roof? ive downloaded over a couple gigabytes of stuff in one day, and never heard anything from them. is hosting my own files a dumb idea?

generally your terms of service exclude running a server
might want to review it
if they note alot of upload, they might flag you

having a protected ftp is one thing, hosting images is another
