Home Network with Win 7 + Win 8

I know it was a horror trying to network Win XP and 7 for say, sharing printer, folders, etc.... I assume with the setup and joining of a common Homegroup, Win 7 and Win 8 PC's can play nice and easy? I.e., there is absolutely no reason to upgrade a Win 7 to 8 JUST to network, correct?

I haven't had any issues at all. one windows 8.1 laptop and various windows 7 desktops and laptops

Thanks, just making sure there wasnt something stupid/bug in 8.1 that people had trouble with.......

I have two Win 7 laptops, one Win 7 PC, one Win 8.1 laptop, one Win 8.1 PC, alongside a WHS v1 (Vista/server 2003), and have no issues.
