Just wondering if this is going to cause a problem, cause it to die soon, and do I need to RMA? this thing holds ripped movies, Anime, etc. on an HTPC. Got a Seagate PATA 200gb on the way from the Egg, just in case.

The clicking sound isn't a good sign, I had that happen to an old IBM Deathstar 75GXP 30GB I had, the clicking soon it stopped working all together and the system wouldn't boot. Luckily I had a backup. You better backup it up while you still can. The Seagate HD you ordered is a good choice. :)

the meowing is normal, both my hitachi's do the same thing also...the hardclick tho is not normal. mine started to do that too but i found out it was because the voltage to my computer fluctuated too much. i bought a new psu, and put all my computer equipment on a ups with line conditioning and that fixed it.

the HTPC is on a Monster Power Reference 1000 line conditioner. I can only hope that that is doing it's job; the PSU is a 400watt Active PFC Sparkle (Fortron guts).
