A few months ago I realized the clicking from my mouse (logitech performance mouse mx) was annoying me, since then I've been searching online and I can't really find a high quality silent or clickless mouse available anywhere.

I purchased SM-5000B and SM-8000B shown at http://www.stopthenoise.com/ (figured I'd use one for HTPC and other for main computer). Both of these are very quiet, but I don't like that I lost the number of buttons I had with the logitech mx (I knew it when i was ordering it, just figured I'd give it a go. Frankly, if i had to choose between the quality, features and number of buttons vs the the quietness I lean towards the quiet mouse, but I would rather have best of both worlds.

Anyone know any good alternatives? I saw a few posts on forums/sites which show how to modify a mouse - but I am unsure since most are older and I don't know if the same instructions would still apply to newer mice.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Any touch-sensitive mouse would be silent.

Getting a good one is another story entirely.
