High pitched noise, seems hard drive related.

I get this noise thats always there. Hard-drive activity seems to temporaly mute it, stuff like loading and even scrolling helps. This happened after I flashed my bios to the updated one. I want to keep this bios update, since it fixed a lot of bugs for me.

Any help?

Your signature says WD 36GB Raptor (go figure LOL)

When it powers up from a rebooted or turned on state, it'll always make that whine noise until it's spins up to it's stable spinning state which makes little to no noise.

it never did before today, ive had it for over a year now
