High pitch noise coming from 17" crt

I have a Samsung syncMaster 750Ms and it has this incredibly gay and annoying high pitched noise coming from it. Its driving me crazy and usually it stops after i hit it a couple of times ( i know this isnt good for it) do you guys know what it is and how to stop it

i dont know what it is but it happens on my monitor too.
i just turn off my monitor and turn it back on, usually goes away.

its been happening on mine for about 2 years and nothing bad has come of it, if you figure it out though let me know.

I use to have the same problem as well, all i did was turn down the refresh rate and it doesn't make the sound anymore.
