Looks like Audio Advisor and Electronics Expo have these on sale for $698.

Quite a price drop for a headphone that was $1799 a few months ago. It will probably go up to around $1000 after the holidays. Not a cheap price by any means, but it's a pretty damn good price for a headphone that's basically an HD800-class headphone.

$698 is the lowest price they have ever been for brand new from an authorized retailer, not just Amazon but anywhere.

CCC includes the price of amazon scammers who list fake items with no way to check out via Amazon and require you to pay thru Western Union :p

For example, according to CCC the HD800 has also been listed at $8.95 before on Amazon:

Perhaps. This is still a nice deal considering the cans, no denying that.

Couple things to be aware of before buying these:

- This is the Edition X version 1, there is a revised version 2 out now
- The retail price of the version 2 has been lowered from $1799 to $1299.
- The V2 didn't change anything regarding the driver, just the pads and handband, so if you can find a V1 for really cheap, I'd go for it and just try and buy the new pads seperately. But if the V1 is over $1000, I'd just get the V2 instead.
