I have a really old Toshiba Satellite 4000CDS that was given to me. I powered it up, it worked great, I put it in the closet to play with later. About a month later, I finally pulled it back out, powered it up, and the screen was negative...just like looking at a color film negative. Anyone ever seen this happen before?
 
Interesting. I know approximately dick about laptops. Oh well, maybe I'll just destroy it or play with modding it for the hell of it. Thanks.
 
you know an inverter is likely less than 50 bucks :D and take 10 mins to replace :D

But I hear ya having one to just tear apart can be fun.
 
$50 to repair a laptop with a P2 233, 32 megs of memory and a 4 GB hard drive...I think I'm just gonna tear the shit out of it. :D
