I need some major help getting my mobile CPU to work on a desktop brd.
I bought used (from here) an Athlon XP 2200+ MOBILE chip. It seems to run fine, and boots on any mobo I've tried. BUT, Most brds read it as an 800Mhz XP mobile. The only brd I can get the BIOS to read correctly is an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe. And only when I force the mutilper to the correct setting. (it also overclocks to a 2200Mhz (boots BIOS only, not in a system yet))

Now, I LOVE the Deluxe brd, but I was hoping to build a mATX system to take to LAN parties.

Mobo's I've tried...
Asus Deluxe
Biostar M7IWP
Biostar M7ITP
MSI KM4M-V400
Asus A7N8XVM

Looked at a Asus A7V400-MV

What other mobos can I force the mutilpier and FBS, to use my Mobile?
Is there a mATX brd i can use?

Use crystalcpuid on any NON NFORCE mainboard to set the multiplier from the desktop.

If not you will need to either set the multiplier in BIOS or do the wire trick.

It is quite common for mobile CPU to boot in a desktop board at that boards minimum multiplier usually 6 or 8...

It should work fine in most nForce 2 boards if you go into the Bios and set it up manually to 400fsb and the multiplier of your choice.
