I purchased a dell laptop that has a 1gb hard drive in it.
I know it will support msata and RST and should allow me to add an additional SSD drive.

I would like to add SSD performance to the computer. What would probably be the best way to go about this.

Should I just add a 64gig SSD as the cache drive and use the rapid storage technology with the current 1gb drive. Will this give me almost full performance as using a dedicated SSD?

Am I better off adding a msata drive for the cache drive or a ssd drive?

I know that having a dedicated ssd would be the best option. But I have seen reviews which shows that RST gives close to SSD performance with your frequently used apps, bootup etc. I would not mind to save a little bit of money and buy a smaller SSD, because I probably will not use the laptop all that much to justify the cost of a larger dedicated SSD.

If the machine can boot from mSATA, do that. use the other drive as secondary storage. smallest drive I would personally use is 128GB as 64 is small once you install Windows and Office...
