Help with Corsair H105 and Maximus 7 Formula, horrible temps

I'm the OP and I ended up adding washers after talking to Corsair. I can run Prime95 now at around 78C after an hour. So I guess the washers fixed my issue, I just don't like it.

It works. It's technically sound. With all of the variations in motherboards and what not, it's almost guaranteed to run across an issue like this.

Nobody can see it, even if they could, what difference does it make having a washer on each corner of the backplate?
