HELP: Video Card Benchmarks: What settings to use?

Hi all,

Ok the deal is I am testing the ATI x800xtpe (real not patch) against the Nvidia 6800 Ultra.
I have several benchmarking tools, including Aqua, 3DMark 2k1 & 2k3, and Fraps to use with a few games.

What are teh common settings used to test in these benches?

Aquamark3's test #1 is initially locked at 1024x768x32, no aa, 4 af.
3dMark let's you change the settings. I have repeated the above settings as well.

What are the other common settings people use in testing? I have looked around and found they very widely from review to review. What settings do people want to see tested?

The 1024x768 default with 3d2k3 is the most common bench number I see. Different res' without any AA or AF usually comes next. Then enable some eye candy. Try different res' then max aa and af and repeat.

Run Aquamark 3 at the default settings, with your video card set to "application preference" for AA and AF under Display Properties->Advanced->ATI 3D. Almost all the Aquamark 3 scores you see are at the default settings.
