thx, but Ive owned crucial ballistiks in the past (not the ddr2 ones) but mine always seemed to fail after 6 months for some reason. crucial rma dept is awesome, but id rather go through that again

Crucial had a bad batch a while back.

Also, you should put a fan on top becasue they tend to run hot. Bought a bunch and only had 1 bad stick. Newegg refunded me. Could've been 1 of the 2 scenarios.

If not G.Skill HZ is the 2nd best IMO.

problem with the ddr1 ballistix was the chips.. micron 5b D. ddr2 doesn't use the same chips, so it's not a problem anymore

and basically everything rated for 400mhz at 4-4-4 or faster uses micron these days.
