I plan on hooking up my PC to my HDTV in the living room and watching HD content from HULU.com as well as playing online games such as BF3 when it comes out. Do I really need a wireless network adapter that can do 300Mbps or is 150Mbps enough. Here are the two I am looking at:

The distance from the router to where my PC would be is about 30feet.

You don't need anything that expensive. Get this: ENCORE ENUWI-2XN42 - $15 Shipped.

If your router supports 300Mbps, then you should get an adapter that supports 300Mbps. 150Mbps with a single stream device and 300Mbps with a two-stream device requires you to use two wireless channels which can be difficult if any of your neighbors have wireless networks. With a two-stream device (300Mbps) you can get up to 150Mbps with only one channel whereas a single stream (150Mbps max) device would get around 70Mbps.
