ok so i have unusual needs in a motherboard and this probably means im screwed as i have not found one that fits my exact needs but ill throw this out there anyways to see if anyone knows of a board that fits them.

1155 motherboard (i5-2500k)

needs to have SLI support and while having SLI in use with both video cards blocking the slots directly below them i need a pci-e 8x or larger slot physically, does not need to support more than 4x while running 2 video cards in 16x slots in SLI at 8x and needs to also have 1 open 1x slot that i can use.

reason for this is i have
2x 560 Ti's (SLI)
1x LSI SAS RAID controller card (8x card but only needs 4x bandwidth to keep from bottlenecking my current 3 drive array)
1x Asus Xonar DX sound card (1x card)

my current motherboard (asus p8p67 pro r3.1) is great and works fine but the problem is in order to use the only open 1x slot i sacrifce 4x bandwidth on my 3rd 16x slot that my LSI controller card is in and its the only slot that i can put that in due to my SLI setup.

just throwing it out there incase anyone else has ran into a similar situation and please save the trolls *lolz why are you running raid, get a SSD stuff*

i have 3x 15k RPM SAS drives and in RAID 0 they are as fast as SSD's without the lack of space and worries of a super expensive SSD dying in a matter of a few years, these enterprise disks have a ton of use on them and health reports say they will last many years to come and perform flawlessly so i intend to use them till one starts to fail and even then will probably just rebuild the array with just 2 drives and start over. (i do not keep important data on this array, its strictly for running windows and any games i play, i keep stuff i want to keep on a redundant raid array running off a linux file server i have)

I believe both the Asus P8Z68-V and the -V Pro (the Pro just adds 1394 and 2 extra SATA 6GB ports). will do what you need. They both have 3 x16 physical slots and 2 x1 slots in a configuration that should work for you (sound card at the very top of the board). The only issue is that the bottom black slot is x4 electrical, and I don't know if it shares bandwidth with the x1 slots.

In your situation you are dealing with a bandwidth allocation issue and need to use a board with a PLX bridge or more PCI-E lanes

My recommendations are

Either one of our Deluxe boards ( P8Z68 Deluxe or P8P67 Deluxe ) or you can consider our P8P67 WS which due to the inclusion of an NF200 also offers the additional PCI-E lanes needed.

Hope this helps.
