1080p all the way. 720p just doesn't cut it for using as a monitor.

also that set is quite a bit cheaper at amazon.
 
If you do op for the 1080p tv. I would recommend looking at the 40" model. You would spend $100 more for +10".
 
Definitely 1080p. Have you looked at the Sharp Aquos? Here's what newegg offers in this category (including the 1080p Samsung that you listed):

The Aquos is not ideal for monitor usage due to its multi-pixel panel layout.

I assume the new 32" Samsung 1080P set is still using a traditional (non-split pixel) panel, which should be more suitable. (Though I don't know much about the new Samsung...)
