Hi. We will be redoing our school building. We have cat cable in every classroom. We want to transfer hdmi video signals to the classrooms using our existing cat cable. We have decided to invest in an hdmi over ip solution. There are several brands on the market such as Atlona Omnistream, Gefen, Hall Research, Key digital, ZeeVee, etc.

Is anyone familiar with these brands and technologies? I want to understand the differences and prices between them. Any help will be much appreciated.

I've used a Gefen for a 140ft run from server room to lobby. We used unshielded Cat5E and it was ok picture quality. A set-top box is also an alternative display source.

We have a ZeeVee ZvPro 280 that utilizes coax to broadcast a signal (channel) from a computer to TVs all over the building. While it is not the HDBaseT you're looking for, the support from ZeeVee has been great to deal with whenever we infrequently needed their technical support (firmware updates, random questions about QAM tuning).
