I really care very little for synthetic benchmarks...I'm just trying to gauge how the 4850 is performing in my system. Please post your 3DMark06 score at default resolution. If your machine is not in your sig please post that as well. Please include speed that your CPU is running at if that is not in sig. Also post speed of 4850 if overclocked.

My score was 13,432. I have a Core 2 Quad at 3.0 GHz and my 4850 is at 675/1075

Thanks!

I thought mine was really low for some reason. It was something like 89xx. I'm running an E2180 @ 2Ghz and the 4850 is stock (625/993).

This is a brand new build system that never had any other video drivers on it so I'm good there.

Also, did anyone else have times where some of the tests would actually only run at 1fps. I think I ran through the first 1-3 test with about 50-80fps and then it would go back and redo a test over again and this time it ran at like 1fps.

Can't remember for sure, as Iam at work, but my old 3870 gave me around 11k points in 3dmark06. 4850 gives only about 500-1000p more, but the performance difference in games is really noticeable.

3DMark06 (default settings) is a CPU-limited benchmark anyway. There's no point in comparing 06 scores with modern top of the line hardware.

What do you suggest then? Vantage? Hopefully there is a free benchmark that we can compare scores...

I'm trying to see the HD 4850 benchmarked with a variety of hardware. I'm also seeing how my setup compares to other similar setups to make sure my system is running well.

By the way...what was your score?

12130 @ 690/1183
11372 @ stock

aldamon - How did you manage 840 on a 4850? What voltage did you go to?

Problem with the scores are that they put so much weight on the multicore processors, so Quad core maybe shows 2000-3000 difference over Dual core but you most likely won't see that much of a performance increase in any game.

Vantage is okay since the score actually scales well with faster GPUs, but drivers are far too optimized for it so it doesn't reflect real world performance at all.

However, at least it does make a faster GPU look faster than something 6 months old. Nowadays 3DMark06 is a pointless benchmark unless you crank up the resolution and AA way up.

855/1150 is perfectly stable running rthdribl for several hours at 1.36v under load (pencil mod) without artifacts. only 1.1v idle due to the 160/500 setting. temps around 50c load.

3dmark06 14127 (no artifacts)
sm2.0 5969
hdr/sm3.0 7173
cpu score 3150 (e6300 at 3.55)

how did you overclock it so high? overdrives only letting me go to 700

10080 with a e2200 @ 2.50 and 4850 at 670/990

17543

Both 4850s are at 725/1100 1.2v
Despite what the compare link says, my quad is only at 3.2 (it does 3.2ghz at stock volts but wont go any higher then that no matter how much you feed it, core 3 always fails in prime)

with crossfire and a Q9450. No overclocking yet as I'm quite a noob. It seems low to me. I ran unreal 3 with the FPS showing in the corner and it never changed from 62. Didn't go up, didn't go down. All the review benchmarks have it in the low 100s for unreal. I think I may need to reinstall the dirviers or run the hotfix. any suggestions?

14282 3DMarks on Q6600 @ 3.2 Ghz and 4850 @ 700Mhz GPU and 1175 memory.

I gotta get rid of this stock cooler on the 4850. It's stable at those clocks in everything but FurMark with the fan speed set to 70 percent, but I just can't take the hair dryer sound the little cooling fan makes when it's turned up that high.

Troubling that Futuremark has not verified the 8.6+hotfix drivers. The verified 8.6 drivers without the hotfix are not at the same performance level.

Is there a way to publish the score if the drivers are not verified? The ORB website tells me not, so other than a screen image, how do you know the validity of what is posted?

I've got 17659 with E8400 OC 4GHz and CF 4850's OC 660/1060.

Hey, I have the exact same setup as you. I don't want to overclock my e8400 to 4ghz but I was wondering, what do you get when you have everything at stock settings? Including the graphics card. I have mine overclocked to 660/1050 but I never benchmarked them overclocked. I do know that I got 12500 with everything at stock, and 13100 with the cpu at 3.33 ghz and the video cards at stock settings.
