Have to press keys twice to get them to work

Im having a weird problem. For certain keys I have to press them twice for them to work. It appears to be just the quotation(") key and the tilde(~) key.

When I hit it twice two quotes end up on the screen. I can also hit either of the keys and they both will show up.

For example, I hit the tilde key and then the quotation key and end up with this result: ~"

Both characters appear on the screen at the same time.


Anyone ever have this problem or know what could be causing it?

sounds like your keyboard is borked.

It's possible you've got a non-malicious virus on your system, but my money is on a messed up keyboard. Got another you can try?

Try typing in notepad, see if it just one application, or the keyboard/drivers being...

borked?

(and yes, there are keyboard drivers, especially the crap HP ones...)
