Breaking news from one of the HardForum members!
What happens if you buy four GeForce TITANS and OVERCLOCK all of them simultaneously, using WATER-COOLING along with a 5.1Ghz+ i7-3960X??

HardForum user Vega just achieved:
3DMark11 benchmark result of 33189 for a true 24/7 gaming system.
This is #3 worldwide, but the higher two scores are liquid-nitrogen cooled, and he says this system runs 24/7 at these specs -- one of the world's fastest true gaming rigs.

FOUR Titans... THREE 120Hz LightBoost monitors (for zero motion blur) in SURROUND...
Capable of Crysis 3 at 120fps@120Hz in 3-monitor surround.
The computer's radiator is the size of a small air conditione....It's bigger than the computer itself!

See Vega's HardForum thread about his quad GeForce titans and tests:
- HardForum THREAD: Vega's Perfect Motion Clarity 2D Lightboost Titan Portrait Surround Gloss Build
(Formerly three titans, now expanded to four Titans in page 6 of this thread)

Scales well too!
YouTube video of Crysis 3 pushing all four GPU's 80-90%..... to an astounding 100-160fps @ ultra settings @ 3340x1920 (darn near 4K!)

WoW!

Makes me wanna go buy.... Dam, I dont have 4K to spend on gpu's! :)

That is a pretty sweet system. Its definately would make a great show rig at
a convention.

/em pets his computer.

Don't worry, you're fast enough for me, baby. ;)

I wish I had that money to blow on my computer, sadly my house, wife, dog, and guns come first.

Vega needs to adopt me. Nice setup. Cleaner than Skeeter's peter as they say in my old neighborhood. Love the other room config.

Truly amazing, as always Vega.

The only problem I personally have with this whole thing though: How can you bear the viewing angles on those monitors? Even the picture you posted shows a nasty discoloration. While I am sure the lightboost technology is well worth it, I just couldn't do it lol. IPS or PLS all the way.

Nice setup.
Who's the sponsor? EVGA,EK or XSPC or all the above?

That is really good looking!

No wonder Titan's are sold out everywhere..

The "Making Of" post....
Thought I'd toss up a quick build thread of my new rig.

Displays (setup complete):

AsusPortraitLB.jpg

3x Asus VG248QE monitors in Surround portrait mode. Custom de-bezeled, mounted and matte film remove. 2D Lightboost 120 Hz perfect motion clarity enabled full-time. If you live under a rock and do not know what 2D Lightboost mode is and how it has saved LCD tech, head here:

If you are gaming on anything other than 2D Lightboost, you are living in the past. It is a complete game-changer. :p

Some pics of the monitors on the operating table:

Some goodies to power this display setup properly:

Parts:

3960X run up to 5.2 GHz for bench-marking
Rampage IV Extreme X79 Motherboard
16 GB of Team Group 2400 MHz quad-channel at 9-9-24-11 @ 1T
Titan's - Three or Four (haven't decided if I will stop at three or not) [NOTE: Bought fourth]
Two Samsung 256 GB 840 Pro's in RAID-0
EVGA SuperNOVA NEX1500 Power Supply

Cooling:

CPU - Koolance 380I Water Block
MB - EK RIVE Full board Water Blocks
Titan's - EK Nickle/Acetal Water Blocks with Back-plates
RAM - Bitspower Water Blocks
Ambient loop side radiator: Watercool MO-RA3 9 x 140mm PRO Extreme
Chilled loop side: Modified 15,000 BTU window A/C to chilled liquid tank
Pumps: Aquacomputer D5 Pump Motor w/ USB and Aquabus Interface
Geothermal loop design: under consideration

Some preliminary pictures:

Routing test

2x Titan Test

My game desk/console setup if you will is in the study, but the computer itself is located a room over in the tea room. This allows me to compute in complete silence and no temperature variations in my immediate vicinity due to heat dump from the computer.

I decide to fabricate a custom shelf/mounting area for the PC in the corner of the room that is a bit unique to display the computer:

The MO-RA3 radiator will be suspended from the bottom of the shelf parallel to the edge for design.

There is a window just next to the corner shelf in which to fit the chilled liquid cooling unit:

Preliminary liquid routing, but I've pretty much decided to go completely serial post pumps as the temp increase of the liquid is too negligible to split into different loops:

Selector valves:

SANY0018-1.jpg

These valves allow me to adjust which loop I wish to run. Ambient for regular use-winter to heat dump inside / Geothermal loop to heat dump in the ground during summer / chilled cooler for bench-marking. For anti-condensation measures, considering the sealed in clear acrylic container "cap" with desiccant route.
Finished product:

Agreed! Many have not seen LightBoost 2D in action. For some of us (Especially former CRT die hards), motion blur is a bigger evil versus IPS.

The only problem I personally have with this whole thing though: How can you bear the viewing angles on those monitors? Even the picture you posted shows a nasty discoloration. While I am sure the lightboost technology is well worth it, I just couldn't do it lol. IPS or PLS all the way.
One thing to keep in mind is that all IPS monitors (even 120Hz overclocked ones) go into a massive VHS-quality motion blur mess, if you try to track eyes on objects during fast motion. High-speed panning, high speed strafing, high speed 180 turns. If you are a former die-hard CRT user that likes fast moving images that are as perfectly sharp as stationary images, the only way to get that effect is with LightBoost monitors and other similar stroboscopic backlights.

IPS is so superior for many things, especially desktop use, but fast motion isn't one of them (at this time), if you're a person sensitive to LCD motion blur.

is Mark Rejhon Vega's agent?

nice setup...best part is that he's actually using it as a 24/7 gaming system...most of these overclocking record holders just use their systems to get a world record for a few minutes and game only for another few minutes to benchmark their system...this is a real system!

How does knowing this help anyone? The overwhelming majority of us are not going to build a supercomputer out of our own salaries. Vega telling us the secret of how he made enough money to buy said system is knowledge I'd be more interested in.

I'm guessing he just chose to spend $X on the computer as opposed to buying a motorcycle, boat, trailer, etc. Just a different choice of hobby is all.

but can it run crysis?

pretty sure Vega is going to let me have it so we can all find out if it will run crysis.

stay tuned!

Because this is fucking [H], I didn't come here to see pictures of kittens and rainbows. I wanna see some computer porn, which this thread delivers.

Bezels, gaps etc etc, yukky.

The gaps are actually really nice on his setup, you wouldn't even notice them in use.
