Hard drive failure and its new wd1600YS

I built my system a week ago and my wd1600YS 160gb hard drive hasn't gone completely faulty on me, yet. When running vista's defrag it would tell me that my hard drive was failing and that I should backup everything and contact tech support.

I booted up dgldiag floppy disk from WD site and ran a quick check. Before the 10 seconds mark the check would abort with the following message.

"test completed with element failure due to handling"
Error/status code = 0008

Upon exiting the boot window I also saw this listed.

Drive failed the DST

Error /status code = 0222


I don't know whats going on please help me.

*update*

I read on the support section of western digital that my error "0222" was due to odd spin times and it had to be replaced, so I did.

Right now they shipped me a new one and I have one month to return my faulty one, or pay the consequences (literally).



Does anyone know how to mirror one hard drive's data to another? I might need such app.
