OK, I'm glad I never tried playing it further than what I think was a demo back then. Good writeup,Amazing game, truly revolutionary for its time, especially if you paid attention to the plot points hinted throughout. Here's a post (link) I made on this very forum about 14 years ago with my take on the game's story. They could have made a movie of it, it was really impressive at the time.

Still hanging onto the original Box for god know what reason =) I'm sure whatever service the game was on no longer works.
You can still purchase it on Steam but only as a package which cost like 54.99
i originally said the same thing earlier but it had been so long since i'd played i started second guessing myself that it happened in the game so i deleted my post, lol. i even knew it was coming because my uncle told me and i still jumped out of my seat when it happened. The scene when you are on a roof top and Fettle comes out of no where and I think knocks you out. That scared me every time, even when I knew it was going to happen on replays. Something about it being in your peripheral vision made you jump. Also Alma when going down the ladder.
That game was so good.
A classic as far as I'm concerned. I miss Monolith. Incidentally, where are my overdue remastered NOLF games? Or just straight reissues even?
Nolf gamaes are in ownership hell. Chances of them coming out again is slim.

Someone please pick up the licensing for this IP. NOLF is THE series that absolutely could use a refresh.
I feel that F.E.A.R. had enough titles to get tapped out, NOLF has oodles of life left.
I lost my boxed copy of NOLF in a move a couple years ago (along with quite a few other boxed personal classics and I am still bothered about it) and would go for a digital copy just because it's a great game.Someone please pick up the licensing for this IP. All three for free here.I lost my boxed copy of NOLF in a move a couple years ago (along with quite a few other boxed personal classics and I am still bothered about it) and would go for a digital copy just because it's a great game.
I would not want them to resurrect the IP unless it was the same writing team and they weren't limited in what they could do from social/corporate pressures.
