Man we used to play the crap out of this on pc multiplayer until all the hackers ruined it (as usual)
Lots of good times and memories, drop kicks and slide kicks. Shotties and leaning were fun. Fond memories, We all built pcs around this badboy when it came out. Remember the in game benchmark ? I miss those days :(

Still hanging onto the original Box for god know what reason =) I'm sure whatever service the game was on no longer works.
You can still purchase it on Steam but only as a package which cost like 54.99

This is still one of my favorite FPS games ever, I have replayed it every year and it never gets old. The infamous ladder scene with Alma is probably one of the few times a computer game has ever made me 'jump' out of my chair lol. The A.I. in the game really was beyond impressive in its day, and is still better then the A.I. present in most newer games. Graphically it still looks damn good as well, though I recall it struggling on my system when I first bought the game. Now I can play it maxed out even on the potato rig in my signature. The fact that this is 15 years old is really hard to believe.....where the hell does the time go exactly???

Amazing game, truly revolutionary for its time, especially if you paid attention to the plot points hinted throughout. Here's a post (link) I made on this very forum about 14 years ago with my take on the game's story. They could have made a movie of it, it was really impressive at the time.

OK, I'm glad I never tried playing it further than what I think was a demo back then. Good writeup,

I spent 23 years at Walmart only to buy the game and never finish it back in 2005.
I stopped buying hard copies once digital became the thing so I started buying Steam Cards on my lunch break.
I would get a 10% discount on Steam gift cards. Then Epic happened and I had less of a motive to buy those.

A classic as far as I'm concerned. I miss Monolith. Incidentally, where are my overdue remastered NOLF games? Or just straight reissues even?

I loved slowing time down and taking down multiple enemies with drop kicks, great times.

I was actually just thinking about F.E.A.R. yesterday, for some reason thinking about chasing Norton around the facility and all his Cheeto bags laying around.

The scene when you are on a roof top and Fettle comes out of no where and I think knocks you out. That scared me every time, even when I knew it was going to happen on replays. Something about it being in your peripheral vision made you jump. Also Alma when going down the ladder.

That game was so good.

Actually the only thing I remember about the game, that it was the first game where I was VRAM limited with my 9800PRO.

I still have mine as well, I just opened it for my YouTube channel. Man, I miss old game boxes. It's satisfying opening them versus current games.

i originally said the same thing earlier but it had been so long since i'd played i started second guessing myself that it happened in the game so i deleted my post, lol. i even knew it was coming because my uncle told me and i still jumped out of my seat when it happened.

Nolf gamaes are in ownership hell. Chances of them coming out again is slim.

Someone please pick up the licensing for this IP. NOLF is THE series that absolutely could use a refresh.

I feel that F.E.A.R. had enough titles to get tapped out, NOLF has oodles of life left.

i think the problem today is it wouldn't generate enough money and it would get nerfed in the silly department because SJW.

I lost my boxed copy of NOLF in a move a couple years ago (along with quite a few other boxed personal classics and I am still bothered about it) and would go for a digital copy just because it's a great game.

I would not want them to resurrect the IP unless it was the same writing team and they weren't limited in what they could do from social/corporate pressures.

I play this game over and over. It holds up well, the gameplay is great and the graphics still look pretty good.

Definitely they could do a reboot of the first one. There's still life in the IP.

This is a hard game with those keyboard controls but I learned alot about game mechanics since then.
Never played this game on a LCD either the blood trails look epic when you go into slow motion.

Hail Satan! :p

I think I will re-install F.E.A.R. sometime this week just because it's almost Halloween. I still have the original box from 2005 in my closet.
