I don't care how cool these VR glasses may look, it's the name that is keeping me from putting one in my face. The company might as well go all out and name the accessories stuff like "cybrator" for haptic feedback and headphones named "ear entry."

That's a hilarious name. The product does look pretty cool, though. Hopefully it'll be more than just a neat render or prototype in a reasonable timeframe.

It's a Chinese company that is deciding to brand with their translation of the Chinese symbols. Translations often end up into WTF or downright odd. A lot of English words also don't go the other way.

It's like having a successful brand in the States called "Gift Bakery" and expanding to Germany - there, it'd mean Poison Bakery (bakery is close enough to b├Ąckerei).

Or bringing a brand from the UK that is Cunt Finders (Mate Finders) to the states.

Eh....powered from a phone so I guess like a fancier Gear VR or something.

Get these to work with a Vive or Rift setup and we'll talk.

My mouth can't really say 'dlo' , much less twice in a row. Do I have some kind of Alzheimer's? Or speech impediment.

And yes, I was hoping I wasn't the only one defaulting to dildo.

I guess this is the 'cheap' one that flakes out and takes poor folks cash who couldn't spring for a Vive etc?

It's basically a "stylish" HMD for your cell phone: the only problem it solves is looking like a dufus wearing something like the GearVR and it costs a heck of a lot more AND still needs your cell phone to function. Cardboard-based solutions may look a little goofy, but at least you know what you're buying, I honestly can't imagine paying nearly $600 for what amounts to some sensors and a couple of tiny displays.

They look like the glasses that people with photosensitivity wear. At any rate, for that price I'd probably just buy a Vive.

Also, why does it even matter how VR glasses look? The only person that will ever see me wearing them is my wife, and it's too late for her.

What I really want is mobile AR that doesn't look moronic. I'd pay for that....

    Resolution? Refresh rate?

Use with a phone? LOL. Have fun with nodef crap mobile garbage. You think the console ghetto is bad? Mobile is worse.

Gimme a Vive 2 with way at least 2x the pixel count and titles that don't face-plant in an SLI rig.

Edit: LOL, not a phone. A purpose built crap not-phone. So it's not even an accessory but a purpose built crap VR solution built around micro-oleds. Maybe. Can't wait for "Grumpy Bird VR" and "Sorny Praystation VR 3D Portable" or whatever other cheap money grab knock-offs they bundle.

Assuming it's not just a huge scam to gobble gullible VC money before vanishing into the back streets of Shenzhen.

Well if the cell phone can actually stream in real time from a rendering system or farm without Lag - you would have virtually a perfect setup for walking around until someone gets seriously hurt or several for walking off cliffs, running into open power boxes or something (time is clicking here). Blinding someone to the real environment and having them move around may prove to be more challenging than it appears. When will HTC get their first lawsuit?

I'm trying "down low" without the "own" part. So I'm saying "da low" but fast.

Plus they don't really mention it but it looks like it's tethered rather than wireless. So really the only selling point is the form factor, otherwise you'd be better off with a GearVR.

A Dlodlo is a very rare plant found in Chinese forests. It's supposed to bring happiness and wonderment to those that find it.
