Police have arrested a man that they say hacked into the Federal Reserve. The man was in possession of more than 400,000 credit card numbers that authorities say came from other financial institutions. According to the report, the man planned to use these at ATMs at a later date.

A Malaysian man hacked his way into the Federal Reserve Bank's computers in Cleveland and also separately had more than 400,000 stolen credit card numbers when Secret Service agents finally caught up with him, federal prosecutors said.

The question is. Why does the Fed, have 400,000 credit card numbers to be stolen? Are they our credit cards? Probably not... Are Fed Reserve employee spending accounts linked to our reserves?

Does not compute.

None of the above, he stole the CC #'s from credit unions. Like it says in the article :)

Right. I read the article. But credit card #s for multi billion dollar accounts like a credit union? I'm sure the fed only works with banks and institutions and not individuals.

But there's a magical "Club Fed Card" that has a # to be stolen and if someone did obtain the # they can wreak havok?

That's sounds like failure built into the system. Which was my point... :D
 
I'm sorry, this guy manages to access the federal reserve and doesn't even try to spring any of the inmates?
 
Sounds like a good movie, lets call Bruce Willis and Shai LaBouf for the starting roles!
 
He should have hacked in and started the printing press, counterfeiting millions if not billions of dollars in federal notes, with no regard to the United States' economy and inflation! Mwahahaha!

Oh wait, Ben Bernanke already does that.

Part A, the fed reserve hack, is not part of or related to Part B, the credit card numbers.

That's all the the Fed has left after the greedy banksters stole all the money. Expired credit cards as IOU's.
 
All I can say is I wish you the best Mr. Hacker. Something tells me this guy won't be seeing the light of day again for quite a while.
 
This guy is small potatoes compared to the heist Goldman Sachs and the rest of Wall Street pulled on America in the big federal bailout

they should just hire this guy to work at Goldman Sachs, in fact, they should give him a medal for what he did, it's the American way.

how could he have hacked in if he didn't see anything?
isn't this just another failed hacking attempt?
 
See i've never got how in hacking things in films you get the moneys after you download it to your usb pendrive. Do you plug the thing into an ATM and it prints it? Do HP make money printers? Is it just internet money like linoleans or whatever or WOW gold?

Just make sure you have a big USB key. Each $100.00 is about a meg, judging by how long it takes to transfer money between bank accounts while somebody is walking up the stairs towards the office you've broken into to transfer money from.
 
Too bad whoever did it couldn't get some real info on that corrupt entity. AUDIT THE FED!!!!!
 
meh can't stand behind him having stolen CC numbers....

however him hacking the fed makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, he should have wrecked their system.
 
We dont even need the Federal Reserve... there the reason we are in such turmoil now.
