I've been trying since that post but hitting add to cart doesn't do anything in any browser. Anybody have any luck?

Check out the shuffle today. There is a 3080 available, but it comes with a Z490 water cooled motherboard.

And looks like they soft banned my IPs for smashing the next button too many times, fuck you digital river, open for bots at all times, but nothing for humans.

Yep, same here, I got banned after a minute of trying, had a 6800xt in my cart too :(

Full disclosure, I managed to get a 6700xt from there last week - just random luck I guess. I didn't really want it but I saw that "add to cart" button and figured fuck it - I haven't managed to get anything else after 3 months of trying... lo and behold it dropped me straight into checkout and kicked me through each step without the 503 errors or multiple clicks. I'm happy to have gotten anything new but I had been wanting something better than the 1080ti that I was hoping to replace. Apparently being allowed to purchase a card capable of 4k is a big ask.

Granted 3080's are selling for insane amounts of money, but that motherboard is ridiculously overpriced. It's maybe a $300 tier board bundled with a $100 360 AIO. The only notable thing about it is the AIO being oversized for the VRMs too. That is the one selling point for $700 board and cooler, completely insane.

AMD (really any of these companies) could easily solve this problem with the way Sony offered their Pre-Orders from their main website and the following:

- Unique Credit Card
- Unique Home Address
- Unique IP

If one or all of them have been used to make a purchase no other purchases of the same item can be made.

Sony had a pretty solid system in place with the line and queuing when they did it. Just have a weekly que like they did and roll with it.

I haven’t even bothered with trying to get a 5900x or a 3080, my sanity is worth way more.

I missed the AMD drop again. Was at my desk this time but.....on an audio call supporting a remote worker.

Bots must have found a new hole. Because last week, the drop was up for 5 - 10 minutes on some items.

CC is easy to bypass, most card carriers offer a free service to provide a unique secure CC# for online orders to combat fraud. IP address is trivial to bypass. Shipping address can be trickier, but I am sure you can just start adding “APT x” to any address and roll through the numbers. Carrier will drop it off regardless.

We are literally in a world where people rent bots for considerable sums of money just to buy overpriced shit. Simple checks like the above will be defeated easily. Unfortunately.

This is the sad truth. Bot prevention would need to be updated weekly to keep up with the arms race against those producing the bots, not going to happen with companies like Digital River at the helm.

It’s a layered approach, those three can be bypassed individually but the que I don’t think can be. That’s a lot of hurdles for someone to go through. The bots would have to have an incredible amount of data in place to get around all of that for each user.

As it is now you just set it up to one address one credit card and buy away. Some reasonable approach to consumers is possible. NewEgg could do it or the manufactures themselves.

Sony tied the PSN ID (only PSN IDs were used for customers), to a credit card and address and qued up a huge amount of orders that went for the most part without a hitch. Bots were just as much an issue then as they are now.

I know. My thoughts were that it would be hard to dump that motherboard for any kind of money that would make the 3080 worthwhile to buy. Maybe you would end up getting the 3080 for $1300-$1400 after your fees selling off the motherboard.

That makes a lot of sense. Much harder to fake those.

Fuck, let Valve sell NVIDIA FE and AMD Reference cards through Steam. They can tell if an account is real or fake based on usage history. Cap it at a card or two per account.

Hell, if Epic did that for EGS, watch them take the market based on buyer loyalty alone.

If I can get a better card then I would definitely be selling the 6700xt. Problem is, looks like I'm going to have to use it as a bargaining chip + cash to trade up at the moment.
Thats where I am at with the 6800. No DLSS no RT...

Hard part will be to find someone looking to downgrade. Anything is possible though. Worth a shot.

Not sure if it has been mentioned here today but Newegg has the Ryzen 5 5600X back in stock and for $299/shipped. Cheapest I saw on Amazon was like $320+ IIRC. I believe it had been OOS at Newegg for quite some time.

I stopped by the Chicago Micro Center store after work today to get a wireless card.
They had an open box GTX 1650 for around $167, 3 of the MSI Ventus GTX 1660 Super for over $400 each, and one 6700XT that was over $800. Insane. No wonder those were still on the shelves.
Forgot to look today, but last week I was there at around 4:30 or so and some people were sitting off to the side in lawn chairs. They must have been camping out to they could get in first the next day. Or that is my best guess anyway. Again, insane stuff going on.

That 1650 was a good price I guess since eBay will be like $300 at least

You can buy and list on eBay as an auction. Then you arent a scalper if they bid their own price?

Maybe in the future Newegg will pick me for the shuffle after $3000 worth of purchases in the last month 🤣

I was able to get a 5900X reserved through verified actual gamers but none of my friends needed one so ended up not buying it. I was kinda surprised since the video had been out for 30 minutes already by the time I watched it.

Any error during Amazon checkout = it was already OOS. That's it. The "ship to this address" is just a false error, and a symptom for it already being OOS. Amazon's not actually trying to speedbump the checkout process, it's. just. an. error.

If you couldn't Buy Now -> Place Order in two clicks, it was already OOS. Screwing around with Add To Cart anything, you already lost.

Also I think bots are slamming the site as well. I have Never been able to check video cards on Amazon. I think bots kill it before anything.
