Surprised it still available and no it still does not have any games.
Unfortunately I'm waiting for stock at XBox.com since I bought all those gift cards.

Here it is almost 10 hours later and I still see a few 3060tis as "add to cart" (whether or not that means they are available is a whole other story)... of course they are the more pricier ones in the $650-700 range.Looks like Best Buy had a drop also.
They go in and out of stock. I have tried with at least 10 cards and I always get no cards within 250 miles message after adding to cart and verifying my account. And this is an area with many Best Buys including some that were in the in store drops over the summer. Here it is almost 10 hours later and I still see a few 3060tis as "add to cart" (whether or not that means they are available is a whole other story)... of course they are the more pricier ones in the $650-700 range.
Best Buy still allows you to add cards to your cart. They may be gambling on shipments coming in or something because I find it odd that they suddenly have all these cards lying around. I know this is a bit off topic, but with the prices coming down here is a comparison of the 3070 vs 6700 XT in case you are like me and still deciding what card to aim for.
Most likely. Unless they're like me and barely play anything new AAA lol.But most people probably aren't using the 3070 for 4k though to be fair
Yeah true that and it seems to be an edge-case anyways since the 3070 run circles around the 6700XT on almost everything else. Most likely. Unless they're like me and barely play anything new AAA lol.
The founders editions of the 3060 TI and 3070 at MSRP would still offer insane value and there would only be about three or four games where you would need to turn down texture settings a notch or two.The only 8 GB card I would consider is the 3050, at MSRP.
1440 is probably going to be more common as those seem to have cheap monitors all over the place where as 4k monitors can be had for cheap but you cant be as pickyThat Far Cry 6 4K result for the RTX 3070 though.. ouch. But most people probably aren't using the 3070 for 4k though to be fair.
Well not having enough vram to run settings your gpu is otherwise capable of right out of the box is not so nice either. And texture settings have one of the biggest impacts on vram yet have practically no impact on the gpu itself so it seems silly for upper mid range or higher end cards to be insufficient in some current games never mind upcoming games.More RAM is definitely part of the problem with these inflated GPU prices, doubling RAM has always been a crutch that allowed AMD/Nvidia to inflate prices. And, they charge you a premium today for that capacity that is only needed in a handful of titles today, but might only be needed a few years later when that GPU is too slow to benefit from the VRAM.
But it’s wholly unnecessary!!! With DirectStorage API, larger memory apertures and batches transfers, there will be less dependency on cached assets through a small aperture vs streamed assets through a much wider parallel aperture. Hope more games adapt and use this new tech so that memory requirements don’t get out of control.
If someone is going to spend that kind of money then they should spend a little more and get the FTW3 with the better cooler.
I could be wrong but, I don't think the XC3 heatsink is considered strictly worse. It certainly doesn't have RGB.If someone is going to spend that kind of money then they should spend a little more and get the FTW3 with the better cooler.
I think I read a direct comparison review a while back and it mentioned the XC3 cooler was both louder and it ran hotter. But yeah I did not think about any other circumstance where the slightly smaller cooler would be beneficial.I could be wrong but, I don't think the XC3 heatsink is considered strictly worse. A use case for the XC3 are MATX and ITX cases which aren't very wide. The lower width of the XC3 an mean the difference of whether or not you can shut the case with the GPU power cables attached.
XC3 is also a double slot card. Whereas the FTW is like 2.5 or maybe even more like 3. It could take up too much space to use another add-in card below it.
I remember when that card launched at $850 and people were so angry.
Everything released since January 2021 has a gouged MSRP. First card to launch like that was the 3060 which is actual garbage compared to the 3060 Ti.Even MSRP is too high...
The cheapest 6700 XT is $599. I bought my RX 590 (5 year old Polaris refresh) 2.5 years ago at $185. The 6700 XT is roughly 2x the performance in most games for 3.25x the cost. Even at the MSRP of $470 that's 2x the performance for 2.5x the cost.
I know the market isn't anything close to "normal" but that sucks.

It's either Nvidia/AMD trying to skim from their AIBs or it really is related to tariffs and component shortages.

Authorizations shouldn't be there when no purchase got to actually be made, though. They're used to check there's enough available credit before shipping. They're called authorizations...
Maybe it depends on the card issuer. But I see pendings all the time on my card/s, even when I missed getting in on an actual order.Authorizations shouldn't be there when no purchase got to actually be made, though. They're used to check there's enough available credit before shipping.
While true, the 3070 and 3080 are straddling that fine line of enough VRAM vs inability to run games at 4K at acceptable frame rates.Well not having enough vram to run settings your gpu is otherwise capable of right out of the box is not so nice either. And texture settings have one of the biggest impacts on vram yet have practically no impact on the gpu itself so it seems silly for upper mid range or higher end cards to be insufficient in some current games never mind upcoming games.
And who knows when we will start getting games using this direct storage and if most devs will even bother. Plus I worry there will be issues just like with all the other things that were touted to improve gaming such as game mode, rebar and hags all of which can do more harm than good in some games.
