I'd pay someone who lives near a MC to get me a 3080.
Should be easy enough, they are called scalpers and you can find them on ebay or craigslist all day. Please be strong and don't support them. If you meant like give someone $20 after cost & shipping, it will never happen since MC are (usually) enforcing card purchase limits and in most populated places you have to camp overnight for weeks to score a card. My experience is based on the Cambridge, MA MC store. I live an hour away & they don't open until 10 so I can't camp out & still keep my job.

I was at the Micro Center in St Louis Park, MN yesterday to do a dead mobo swap - there were already 3 dudes with tents and chairs out at 8:15PM. I'm all for having fun if you can do it (and it does sound fun) but for me, with a family and all of that the opportunity cost would be too great. Especially because there's no guarantee the truck today is full of what you want. Kinda crazy.

Bottom line - you may be better off just paying eBay prices since there is quite a bit of "work" to get a card at Micro Center unless you get completely lucky as you're sauntering in to get some thermal paste or an SSD...

I've had good luck with Distill and paying with PayPal at AMD and I've also had luck at EVGA B-stock with Distill. A couple things to look at...although not ideal and not 3080s.

yea I'm talking like giving shipping plus a little more for your time and gas to get to the store, not scalper prices.

I say you have a good chance of getting since they sow 17 in stock. You need to go now tho.
Yeah people in the know here don't get "it". Boss would rather have me get a 10850K system from Dell for $2800 or whatever stupid price it is. 430w PS, proprietary mainboard, non-upgradeable case, 2400Mhz CAS 22 ram, etc etc. *makes jerking off motion*
Dell outlet just had a Alienware restock with rtx 3070s.
I just picked up a water cooled 10700k system with 16gb, 512gb, 3070, for $1400 plus tax.

As soon as you post something like that they're gone. How do you know? Just randomly check every morning? I think I looked this morning and saw nothing, before you even posted. I almost pulled the trigger on a Quadro RTX 4000 system for $1700, just for the video card. But with A4000 on the horizon...

Any of you guys in Denver? I'm up in Fort Collins and could get to the Denver store by 7:30-8am, but I don't want to drive down there to be greeted by a line of people already ahead of me.
Broomfield, but general life responsibilities plus a freshly installed 3070 from last week's BB drop means I'm not in a position to go fishing for cards locally right now. Following along though. I was surprised to see actual cards on the Denver site this morning, though I don't think any 3080's. Still lists a 6800XT and 6700XT as of 9:20 local. Hopefully they are enforcing the limit now and it gets easier for gamers soon.

I checked about 8-830 everyday. Just happened to add them right when i checked today i guess. I'm going to use the one I bought last week with the 6800xt for myself as it has grown on me. I got one of the 6700xts Roguecast was selling yesterday for my son to upgrade his vega 56 he got nib for xmas but now i think i will just give him the gpu out of this and sell the rest of the system and the vega 56 locally on FB.
I have to stop, lol if i get anymore computer parts wife gonna kill me.

They have a similar system for $1554 with the 3070 on the dell outlet right now.

Just got a 5900X from MC, so nice to be able to get something at list price.
Does mean I'm committed to an AMD build now though lol. I was debating the whole - go as cheap as possible (11400 or 10600K debate) on CPU, but I guess that's out the window now.

Congratulations on taking a chance from someone who might have wanted it!!

Why do you guys sign up for it if you don't want it? Then win and complain that you didn't want what you signed up for.

I’m not complaining... Don’t be narrow minded.

Probably so they can say they never win and when they do they never wanted it to begin with. Maybe he would hook up a fellow member and sell it to them at cost.

Just had to do a captcha on amazon after refreshing the same page a bunch. They might be cracking down on the bots.

Johnx64 is right though. People that have no intention on buying shuffle the items should not enter and instead should leave it for people who will actually buy.
Newegg is heavily botted and the problem with winning the shuffle and not buying is that you are basically guaranteeing a bot will get it, once the unclaimed shuffle items are dropped and made available to the public.

I’ll believe it when I can get a card in the cart off a Twitter alert. Everybody points the finger at scalpers, but the reality is that there’s nowhere near enough cards on resellers to account for the “record stock” that Nvidia is shipping. It’s the fucking miners. /rant off

Well I assume at some point they had to have realized if only bots and scalpers are buying gpu's it's going to effect sales of other items. Until then....

How does MC work? Do they pass out reserve sheets right at opening? I drove past Radnor today at 8:30 and the line is around the building, at least 50-60 people.

They use too give out vouchers 10-30 mins before they opened on a first come first serve bases. Mine doesn't do it anymore tho since they started enforcing the 1 card a month rule. Idk if they are enforcing it Company wide now or not tho.

At mine people form lines at the pc parts section, there's one computer near the cpu case that they will print up a form for, and then you go pick it up at customer service with that form. With covid they are letting in one person at a time after spraying your hands, so there's no mad dash to get in this line. You just need to be higher up in the overnight line.

I am SO tired of the COVID lunacy. If you're still that scared of that disease quit your job at MC and stay the F' home. Anyone know if they're doing that idiocy at Madison Heights?

My store in Parkville gives no fuck. It probably varies how strick they are state to state based of the local restrictions. There is a guy at the door that is all covered up and with a face shield but he doesn't do anything unless you ask at my store. Most people just walk past them. You have to line up at the DYI sections to get any cpu, gpu, SSD or some of the high price MB. From my experience people respect line and don't make a mad dash to the counter once the store opens.

Last time I was at Madison Heights (a few months ago), people were just all wandering around. The most they did was spray your hands down when you walked in the door
