Apparently Japan is not allowing tourists to buy 50xx series cards?I’m in Japan right now. Wondering if msrp cards exist here? Or where to even potentially get one. This place is amazing but I’m a dumb English American.
9070 XT
$660

edit: Gone in seconds sorry.
If I remember to I will.I tried FF7 Rebirth and it has a bit of a delay, fans spin up a bit loud but not too bad, about 2000 RPM. Might change when temperatures in the room rise. Once the fans turn on adjustments seem normal. This mirrors what the ASUS Dual 4070 did for me although that was more obnoxious. Seems like after launching a 3D program even with the default settings, there is a bit of a delay and then it forces the fans to a high RPM, and then gradually adjusts it to a lower RPM and follows the curve. Generally my EVGA, Zotac and MSI cards I had did not do this. So it does seem like an ASUS thing, going from the two GPUs of theirs I used.
Can you take an audio recording of it?
That one was shipped and sold by Amazon.com Not surprised it went real quick. Haven't seen sub $699 in a while.Make sure to double-check the seller on Amazon. At that price you're almost guaranteed a scammer.

As someone who buys stuff from JP often and has a vacation house in Yokohama, I think this is a bit overblown. It's just one of the retailer over there I believe. The prices don't seem all that great compared to US prices when I checked, starting at about $3k for a 5090. I haven't ever bought PC parts in JP since their prices tend to be higher on almost everything.Apparently Japan is not allowing tourists to buy 50xx series cards?

I think the bigger story, and maybe why some people where looking to score one in JP, is that you used to be able to buy Duty Free (tax free) but since Japan is getting so many tourist (more than they want) they've removed Duty Free buying. I haven't been back since, but I believe you now have to file paperwork as you leave the country to recover the taxes. Next trip is in Nov, so will see how it works then.
Was helping a friend with a new build and realized 9800x3d are oos everywhere.Going to max from 0 is normal fan behavior. Ever notice how most fans go Off High Med Low? Basically they go full blast to get the momentum going so lower settings work properly and don't strain the motor as much. My Arctic P12 Max fans always go full blast then go down at turn on.
Looks like I possibly snagged a 9800x3D through Antonline but are now showing Not Available on the store page which I had to go through Google to find. I got a tracking number but FedEx hasn't picked it up yet.
Not an audio recording, but this gives a better picture of what the ASUS fans are doing exiting zero RPM + with no load just manual start.I tried FF7 Rebirth and it has a bit of a delay, fans spin up a bit loud but not too bad, about 2000 RPM. What's the least I could reasonably expect to find a 5090 for, at this point in time? 3k-ish, give or take $100? Not including the FE.
That's depressing, but I guess what I expected. Thanks for the link.
With that name I am assuming you want the ASUS Astral. What's the least I could reasonably expect to find a 5090 for, at this point in time? 3k-ish, give or take $100? Not including the FE.
Yeah, I didn't even think about that. Tax is going to be brutal on this purchase. With that name I am assuming you want the ASUS Astral.
These are not in stock now, but show up frequently:
The cheapest is the Newegg combo - GIGABYTE GV-N5090WF3OC-32GD Bundle with GIGABYTE Z890 EAGLE WIFI7 $2879.98
Usually lasts hours before selling out. Was in stock yesterday. Stand alone sells instantly.
Without a bundle the cheapest is Zotac 5090 Solid OC for $2900 that pops up from time to time. Typically at Newegg or Zotac store. Zotac store charges shipping, but might only charge partial tax depending on your state.
Instock now if you want it.Yeah, I didn't even think about that. Tax is going to be brutal on this purchase.
I guess I should be flattered that Asus chose me for their high end product, lol.
WTF! Why doesn't this show up when I do a search? No wonder it's in stock, it's hidden.5090 Solid OC is back too

Are you searching for in stock and sold by newegg? Sometimes newegg has the same listing with resellers and for some reason likes to show the resellers on the search page unless you click the sold by newegg option.WTF! I thought it might be that but it isn't. Even with all filters off it didn't show up without a direct link. Amazon does that sometimes also, but usually only when it's out of stock, or fluctuating in/out of stock, like when the PS5 came out and I was tracking it.Are you searching for in stock and sold by newegg? Anyways, the one sold by newegg is out of stock.
Weird because it showed up for me when I searched.I thought it might be that but it isn't. Even with all filters off it didn't show up without a direct link. Yeah the MC in Madison Heights, MI just got over 25 9800x3d and 2 9950x3d inGot a 9800X3D from Antonline. Direct link since it doesn't seem to show up on their main page:
https://www.antonline.com/AMD/Computers/Electronic_Components/Microprocessors/1515256
Currently out of stock on Antonline but I just kept looking. I got the tip off from Amazon Other Sellers, Antonline was trying to get more on Amazon but the main page has msrp.
I already bought a motherboard and AIO. Tomorrow the case, RAM, and PSU get here. Gonna pop in my current drives and the 4090 and blast off.
Microcenter seemed to have restocked when I looked earlier in the day. Newegg too but they want more than msrp so fuck them.

That's the Microcenter I was looking at but it's about a 2 hour drive one way. My kid wants to go to it so bad lol.
I am in my mid-40s and I still remember my dad driving us over to metro Detroit to CompUSA in the early 90s to buy a 4MB memory module for our 486. You should take your kid to Microcenter! That's the Microcenter I was looking at but it's about a 2 hour drive one way. My kid wants to go to it so bad lol.
Yes. Cute memories and stuff. Just make sure to buy something when you’re there.I am in my mid-40s and I still remember my dad driving us over to metro Detroit to CompUSA in the early 90s to buy a 4MB memory module for our 486. You should take your kid to Microcenter!
I can't fully comprehend that basically all brick and mortar electronics stores are gone except microcenter (i mean real electronics like ICs and OScopes and ham radios). That's the Microcenter I was looking at but it's about a 2 hour drive one way. My kid wants to go to it so bad lol.
I think it is very kind and generous of Nvidia to sell us a 4080 Super for the MSRP of the 5080.
