[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears 2025

Wow, after 9+ hours, still available. Looks to me like demand is trending downwards and supply keeps increasing or perhaps holding steady. I guess we should all wait.

Out of curiosity I added it to the cart when I saw the post, despite being in stock, when I got to checkout it would go out of stock. Tried a few times.

The stock availability comes in and out very frequently since my first post on Friday (Apr 25), at least according to this tracking site: https://www.nowinstock.net/full_historydetails/1700/82691/
It's also the "cheapest" card at $825 in terms of recent availability.

It could be just timing and the availability is more frequent than other higher priced models.

Second "cheapest" at $839. In stock right now

It's gonna be a while before I'll accept paying $800+ for a mid-range card. Supply has to exceed demand at some point and prices will correct, as it seemed they were starting to late last year before they stopped 40-series production.

I'll be riding with my 12GB 3080 for a while longer it seems, which is still good for the games I'm playing at 1440 UW. Maybe if I ever see a 4080/5080 for under 1k in the next year new or used I'll jump on that.

The good news is it depends on your definition of mid-range. If you mean it literally - you can get an RTX 5070 for $550. That's upper mid-range.

Managed to beat the bots to the checkout on amazon for a GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 Master ICE and now it's sitting at delivery appointment pending. I tried to add to cart a moment later just to see and they were oos, honestly don't know how I got through this time since bots seem to order instantly.

That a good card. Congrats!

Anyone noticed that 9800x3d stock suddenly evaporated? Beginning of last week local Microcenter had 25+, I said great I'm going to go this weekend. Poof! They're all gone, almost everywhere except the 30%-50% customer rated third party marketplace listings. No ETA on restock either.

Yup - same here. X3D in general.

Because I've been contemplating an upgrade I've been watching MC's price every week for the past few months. Stock has been out for over a week now. I think there is a supply issue, just like back in January.

Prior to stock running out, MC put the price back at $479.99. There was probably a good two to three weeks early April where you could get the 9800X3D for $459.99 from MC. I definitely missed out on that window of opportunity.

Hopefully this is just a temporary thing.

The 5080 was listed for a few minutes. It's been removed now.

Dropping thousands of 5080s on a Tuesday afternoon is so on point for Nvidia. What a major F U to those of us on the Verified Priority Access list.

Unfortunately all they care about is that they sold out quickly.

To be fair at least their queue system was decent in that it showed your place in line and actively updated your number with a semi-accurate estimated wait time. Nice change of pace compared to the ongoing nightmare that is Best Buy.

Notes to take away is that the product showed as "out of stock" about an hour or two before the listing populated and activated. If you're looking for a 5090FE I'd stay frosty in regards to alert channels and look out for this initial listing reveal around the same time in the morning. Assuming they follow the pattern of 5070 -> 5080 w/ their DOOM promotion I'm expecting it to show up soon. Make sure to use guest checkout if you do make it to the end as their login process is prone to errors when you have the item in your cart while guest checkout skips the user auth scripts.

Pick your poison though. Feel free to sit back and continue yelling at cloud. I think the shovel broke and we're stuck down here permanently unfortunately. 🚬🐢

Yup, I'd been seeing them in stock rather recently and I decided over the weekend it's 9800x3D time and obviously...

Noticed Microcenter is now allowing you to add RTX 5000 GPUs to Cart for pickup. At least for my local store (Mayfield Hts, OH).

No, I did not buy one. Was just looking at their stock and noticed it.

Will do. I think some GPUs do this as a dust clearing feature, though it annoys me. Can't recall the last GPU I used that had it. My EVGA RTX 2070 had an annoying ramp up/down noise when the fans would turn off and on. In the summer it would do this frequently when not gaming. Nothing horrible, just a quick little tick when ramping up. The EVGA 1070, EVGA 3070, and Zotac 4070 Super did not do this. Transitioning from idle to fans on/off is not noticeable. Is your noise more like a quick tick, or is it a grinding noise that lasts a few seconds?
Just checking back, does your ASUS Prime 5070 Ti fans blast to 2000+ RPM when exiting zero RPM?
I've been using a 820mV UV so it's been quiet, but at stock it still initially roars up to 3000 RPM.

I can see that now for 5080s at the Minnesota location. They have quite a few in stock right now too, a couple models say 25+. I don't know how long that will last but I guess it's a good sign.

The 5090s don't have that option though. And there is only one model with 3 in stock.

Both my local GA microcenter locations have plenty of 9900x3ds, but I don't need the non-gaming performance of extra cores and I just don't think they will hold up as well as the 9800x3d and the 9950x3d. They really seem to be the black sheep of the family.

GA Microcenter have plenty of 5080s in stock and allowing you to put in cart and pay for 18 minute pickup. Last week they even had 25+ PNY $1199 5080s but those evaporated in just a couple days. Now it's just the $1400-1600 models.

Yeah, it's a weird part imho

5090 withdrawal is real especially if you own a 4090. I know how bad it was trying to get a 5080 for almost three months after launch.

9900x3ds are like plug-in hybrids, the worst of both worlds.

Going to max from 0 is normal fan behavior. Ever notice how most fans go Off High Med Low? Basically they go full blast to get the momentum going so lower settings work properly and don't strain the motor as much. My Arctic P12 Max fans always go full blast then go down at turn on.

Looks like I possibly snagged a 9800x3D through Antonline but are now showing Not Available on the store page which I had to go through Google to find. I got a tracking number but FedEx hasn't picked it up yet.

I had assumed most pc fans use pid controls and pc hardware engineers are terrible at controls so we get what we get...but maybe not?

I've used many video cards in my rig and none of them did that.
Switching to quiet bios or UV reduces the severity.
It also doesn't do it all the time, but most of the time.
I just tested it again at stock and GPUz showed the first tick at 800 RPM and didn't exceed 2000 RPM.
After rerunning the test GPUz showed 2000 RPM on the first tick, then 3000 RPM on the second.

yup, startup voltage...

Not always, but sometimes it does. This was an issue with my 4070 ASUS Dual as well. ASUS fan profiles seem to be more aggressive with short response times at default. I have edited the fan curve with their GPU Tweak software. I added a longer delay for fan increase time, and upped the default curve which seemed to ramp up fans at 65C to 71C. Think it hits 50% at 65C at default. GPU Tweak's fan curve is a bit simplistic but it should get the job done.

Will need to play more games after I edited the fan curve. In general adding a slight delay in fan ramp up can help prevent fans from going up/down quickly. The ramping up/down quickly is often more annoying than a gradually and consistent loud.

Seems to be multiple things going on.
Wtih my Gigabyte Windforce 4070 using Fan Control (manual control) the fans reacted quickly when exiting zero RPM. It also does not exceed what I request.
On the ASUS Prime 5070 Ti it takes 11 seconds for the fans to spin up... And the RPMs exceed what I requested. For example I request 65%, but it hits 2300 RPM before settling at 1900 RPM. Once the fans are spinning it reacts quickly to adjustments.
At stock + furmark and watching GPUz it took 11 seconds for the GPU to request fan spin up. Then it took another 7 seconds before they actually started spinning.
This card has an extreme delay when exiting zero RPM.
Maybe this is an ASUS thing?

I tried FF7 Rebirth and it has a bit of a delay, fans spin up a bit loud but not too bad, about 2000 RPM. Might change when temperatures in the room rise. Once the fans turn on adjustments seem normal. This mirrors what the ASUS Dual 4070 did for me although that was more obnoxious. Seems like after launching a 3D program even with the default settings, there is a bit of a delay and then it forces the fans to a high RPM, and then gradually adjusts it to a lower RPM and follows the curve. Generally my EVGA, Zotac and MSI cards I had did not do this. So it does seem like an ASUS thing, going from the two GPUs of theirs I used.

Can you take an audio recording of it?
