Going to be fun watching the AiB justification for their mark ups on 5070 and slower cards as if they really need exotic cooling solutions

Alienware is booty. They don't even know how to keep their own PCs cooled properly.https://www.nowinstock.net/computers/desktop/rtx5080desktops/
Full systems instock with 5080s Alienware looks kinda neat.
Yep, slickdeals posts about getting the rig for $1800ish were up a few days ago. Email coupon plus cashback site. I was tempted...https://www.nowinstock.net/computers/desktop/rtx5080desktops/

I think you are optimistic on that performance. The benchmarks I saw from several sites put the 9070XT anywhere from 6-80% slower than the 5070TI and the 5070TI is like 13% slower than the 5080. Plus no frame gen on AMD and it actually does work pretty well for 50x0 cards. I was playing with CyberPunk 2077 and frame gen and on my 5070TI and it worked surprisingly well. My 3080 would max out at like 35-40FPS at medium high settings. With frame gen my 5070TI was pegged at 120Hz with similar and better settings with frame gen. AMD is not gonna be close to that with no frame gen. I wasn’t sure what to expect not having tried it before, but in all cases of switching back and forth between on and off. I liked frame gen better on and didn’t feel extra lag, just saw smoother frame rate.My MN MC got another drop - tons of MSRP XTs. This one fit my case.

Out goes the ASUS RTX 5080 Prime OC. Big cost savings for about 80%+ performance.
Unfortunately, no stock benches for the RTX 5080 (this was +205 clock, +4004 mem), but this thing is SPICY for $600! No OC on the 9070 XT.

$1430 - $650 = $780.00 cheaper! Nuts. (Tax included)
I mean I went from 5080 to 9070 XT and the gameplay is basically the same. Sure there are compromises and yes the statistics are lower. 80% performance is real - and playing with OC it gets even closer. The 9070 XT is the best card this gen overall. I still have a 5080 and I have a 5090 coming Wednesday.I think you are optimistic on that performance. Worst case example:
80% slower than 5070ti (and that’s before frame gen options on Nvidia)

However…….I get the very valid point on savings. A $1400 5080 is simply too much. A $1000 MSRP 5080 is worthwhile.
What are the the hotspot, VRAM temps, and noise / RPM on your Reaper? I read the core temp is great. My MN MC got another drop - tons of MSRP XTs. This one fit my case.

Nice! I’ll have to check - a lot of my suite of tools (HWInfo) don’t support it fully, yet. What are the the hotspot, VRAM temps, and noise / RPM on your Reaper? I read the core temp is great.
Just bought one from Newegg today. Might use it temporarily until I can find a $1k 5080.
You’re not! The only thing to consider is the used market - I haven’t looked at the 7900 XTX but since my 7900 XT sold for $760 used I can only assume you can get more for XTX (although this was before the 9070 XT launch).I bought a reference 7900xtx direct from AMD like almost 2 years ago and feel like I'm missing nothing by skipping this shit show.
Oh, and by the way, it was $999.

I wouldn't be surprised that the price updates when it restocks and is no longer 599. They maybe only update the price when they actually obtain productNow only two 9070 XT are at AMD MSRP on Newegg. Both non OC which are rarely available. So much for the $50 AIB rebate, the Reaper went up $100.
I watched the 9070XTs for a while and the Gigabyte cards seemed to hang around showing in stock for almost a half hour for me.Keep an eye on newegg, they dropped gigabyte cards that went instantly at 10am pst and 30 mins later dropped some sapphire pulse cards. Will have to wait and see if they all get canceled or not.
I managed to get a sapphire pulse yesterday during the "restock". Shipped that afternoon. Free mouse pad with it. Supposedly there was an asrock card too. I just kept checking every couple minutes on the app, saw them pop in, and got lucky. The gigabyte cards were gone within minutes. Showed in stock, try and buy, get out of stock error.I watched the 9070XTs for a while and the Gigabyte cards seemed to hang around showing in stock for almost a half hour for me.
Did anyone here buy a 9070 XT today and get their order canceled? Gamers Nexus got all 4 cards they bought on Thursday canceled. I wonder what the overall percentage of Newegg cancelations was on Thursday.
Just got home from running errands; received the email 24 minutes before logging in and joining the queue. Had 288 people ahead of me with an estimate of 24 minutes. Now down to 210 people at 15 minutes...keeping my fingers crossed!Nvidia is sending out a huge amount of invites to purchase a 5090 directly from the Nvidia store. Keep an eye out!

Good luck. I was able to make it through and received an order confirmation. I'll be optimistic when I get shipping info/confirmation.I'm attempting to check out but the site is struggling.

Reddit post/thread and poll suggest Nvidia sent invites to purchase 5090s mostly to current 4090 owners. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/s/to9oqgSz58I have two nvidia accounts, neither got an invite. Have purchased GPUs directly from Nvidia in the past.

In fairness, My kids get my hand me downs.....If you sell a 5090 to a 3080 owner, they are likely to keep it ~5 years.
If you sell a 5090 to a 4090 owner, they will replace it with a 6090 in 2 years.
I worry it's because I don't run Nvidia Experience they can't tell I have a 4090, so no upgrade for me....I believe I signed up quite some time ago with Nvidia - no invite yet. No 4090 though, but a 3090 - something they ought to be able to see via Nvidia driver update utility account with the same email - which demonstrates the willingness to buy an xx90 device and very likely to want to upgrade given the performance uplift between them. Guess I'll wait and hope there will be more both direct from NV and opportunities at other vendors.
