Greeting all,

Below are some pics of what a few of us have been upto. The Linux folder server is running the offical "crapper" pile under user id [H]OldMarty. Kinda a combo of Oldbenwa and my user name. Many thanks to Spectre for donating the crapper 550 AMD Slot 1, Oldbenwa for physically helping put the boxen together/up/fold server boxen (the main crapper holding those all together) and unhappy_mage for the Linux fold server distro. (and my boss.... :D )

This is my work boxen breaking in under XP, and the fold server network. 2 completely seperate networks. The crappers are on the left rack top with four on the mid shelf. All the ones in backwards are my work boxen being "broken in" (yea, more like folding 24/7 till they part from my cold almost dead hands)

Kinda close up of the crappers:

Big picture of all (note to Oldbenwa: more crappers on the floor!!!!)

Hi res link action here

We just added the big hitters to the Linux farm last night, I think she is up to a whopping 450+ PPD now. The units dropped are pretty sad, but it all helps.

Again, thanks much to Spectre, Oldbenwa and unhappy_mage .

edit: 11- 2.4/512 Celerons
36- 2.53/512 Celerons

Crappers: I dunno 21? Ask Oldbenwa. I think 6-7 have SSE now. Highest is P3 OC to 980, a 933, 3x 667 Celerons and the rest. A P3 or two in there. A few more SSE chips to come.

.......

lol Mage I got you good on this one! :D

I forgot my favorite part- the crapper on the top shelve, 2nd from bottom desktop at the rear (Dell).

The PSU way bad (some custom thing, really small), and I had another Dell missing that RDRAM stuff, with a "normal" size PSU. Well the Dell desktop in question net boots off the onboard nic so no reason for a CD/FD cage. The "larger" PSU fit nicely there so the plug for the box is now coming out the front if you look closly.

Any now the CPU from the old I stole the PSU is in another box in there somewhere.....

So how many Ghz? How many have SSE support? That is really cool though. Plain awesome.

I'll post specs of the crappers tomorrow. It's amazing how much crap Marty can pull out of somewhere! :p

That farm is a thing of beauty. I kinda wonder what the power bill is like :x

post'em!!!! PICS!!!!

That's ~64 machines.

How on EARTH do you afford the power or the heat?

Do you live AT the north pole?

It's all @ work/work boxen.

Umm, Minnesota yea kinda close to the north pole. I'll see how things go this summer, no AC back in the warehouse part. Big cement floor, should keep things cool...hopefully.

No A/C, I guess it's unnecessary in that part of the country, but it just seems stupid living in this sweatbox in Houston. It's already hit 80F a few times, and even 90F last week, in winter! I just moved one of my boxen that was sitting in the window to a better place, because the 2400+ inside was running at 143F, whereas it runs around 110F away from the window. I wish I had that sort of power available where I work at, unfortunely I have a bunch of shitboxes(P2's, P3's mainly) that are already short on ram, I wouldn't dream of running F@H on them.

We've got most of the crappers (P2/P3) folding with 64 meg ram. This is all that is needed for normal work units, and the Linux fold server.

I just moved up here/home this June after 4 years in Dallas TX. Yep, it's hot down there, very very hot.
