The HardForums or HardOCP do not officially sponsor an IRC channel for the record. :)

You really, really should. :D

There used to be a lot of tech site channels on IRC..now after the banner ad bust, so many of them shut down, and there's just no good ones out there anymore. They're all ghost towns. It makes me a sad panda.

Does that mean they encourage unofficial gatherings, or that they wish to have no involvement at all in internet relay chatting?

Does it matter? :p

There used to be a couple of unofficial #hardocp channels on the big networks (efnet and etg). Not sure if they still exist.

They became bitchnmoan "I hate Kyle" channels looking more like an AOL chatroom for the 13 year old crowd, so would you want your name associated with that noise? :p

...answer: I don't think so Tim.

Hehe, alright, Al!

I don't blame you there. All I remember is that I was in one of those channels once, and I heard no chat that sounded [H]ard enough, and there were two guys so mad about bush getting elected that they wanted to kill someone or some nonsense.

there is one on efnet at stated earlier, but it's more general BS than anything else. The #hardfolding one on ETG has some good convoersation most of the time though

I never had much luck with tech-based channels. I've attempted to start some up in the past on a couple of networks (Gamesnet, Gamesurge), but they always became takeover targets, and I ended up filling the ban lists all-too-quickly.

#hardware on gamesurge has decent discussions sometimes, haven't been on in a while. Then theres other times "I got a harddrive from a kid, where do i plug it in???!?!?!"
