I love the FS/FT forum, but right now the FS/FT forum is a mess from the point of view of both sellers and buyers. We have so many users right now buying and selling things that you've got a great deal of variety, and a great deal of inventory moving, but it's not a very intuitive way to find what you might seek. There's not even separation between WTB and FS/FT threads.
Now, imagine the forum working a lot differently. Instead of poring over threads and searching for keywords and reading vague lists of sometimes poorly-maintained threads, you simply look for the product you want first. You see a list of sellers (if any) and a list of buyers (if any). If you're a buyer the process is fairly straightfoward--you can look at the specific details of that item (each seller still writes a description for that particular item) including condition, caveats, and price. If you're a seller the process works similarly, except you can add an item of yours for sale. Sometimes there will be other sellers selling the same item, other times there won't be. But, overall, the buyers can find what they want more easily, the sellers can sell their products more easily, and the whole concept of bumping threads becomes totally obsolete.
I believe this would be a complex development, but would propel the attractiveness of [H]'s FS/FT forum to new heights for both buyers and sellers.
