Is this possible?

Assuming the cards would even cooperate/run, would I run into any dealbreaking performance problems (obviously the 680 would be the limiting factor in performance).

The reason I ask is because the 770 is currently roughly ~$50 cheaper on Newegg than 680 2GB cards.

And for the record my 680 2GB is a reference design, not aftermarket.

Thanks.

i've been wondering this too, if you can flash 680 to 770 if they will sli. the 770 runs fasterram speeds and maybe different timings.

You can not sli a 680 with a 770. Despite their similarities, the gtx 770 uses an updated version of the gk104.

Just look around in the for sale section of this forum, if you want to pick up a nice discounted gtx 680 for sli.

Completyly different architectures, it may work but chances are you will run into problems or even a useless card after the BIOS change.
