something is wrong, it wants $85 + for shipping, $200 for overnight lol. new Newegg sticking it to the customer tactic?

Yeah something is all kinds of stupid with the shipping cost, it says $94.94 for me and it doesn't give me the option for Shop Runner.

LOL just checked and its quoting me 188$ for 2 day air shipping. WHAT THE FUCK:confused:

Heh, 7 posts about the $94/4200 shipped Twin Frozr by the time I got my message together.. Now the true question... how many do they have in stock and how long will these last? People will buy these as well just a matter of time… Like a cast away on a boat surrounded by sea water… how thirsty will people be?

Well I talked with someone on live chat and they said they had no idea why shipping was so expesnsive, but they're having the appropriate department look into it.

I called Newegg a few minutes ago to report it and the rep was like WOAH when he saw the shipping cost. He said he would expedite it to their team that handles the web pricing to get it taken care of here within the next half hour hopefully but it looks like it is going to sell out soon regardless of the shipping cost.

You don't void the warranty on EVGA card for installing an aftermarket cooler do ya?

No, you just have to remove it before returning it:

•The product must be returned to EVGA in the original factory configuration and condition. All aftermarket modifications must be reversed before sending in the product for replacement.

Well they are buying them at that price because its OBVIOUSLY an error on newegg's part. They will just refund shipping I am sure. I almost bought this until I realized that its the reference design with a TWIN FROZR cooler attached to it.

I lucked in here when the Galaxy was in stock - it's the one that matches the one I bought from Frys.

I added it to my cart, paid via paypal, and as I am about to submit, my wife comes in because the Pizza delivery guy was here.

I checked all the boxes and hit submit and went to have pizza.

now I check back about 2 hours later and the web page had gotten stuck and of course the order did not get placed.

I didn't say it was good luck...

I was going too order one, then I seen $95 shipping, I was like... Hmmm not happening unless nVidia CEO hand delivers it. Now that its out of stock shipping went down too $7.97 , how interesting wish i would have ordered it... I would contacted them and ask for a shipping refund,.

If it happens again, then you know there's probably a no-gouging agreement that they are skirting around by inflated shipping prices ...

Nice to see MSI TF model, but we (I) want 4GB TF! That and I have to start pimping my body out to afford it. :)

Still gonna wait till it's a tad cheaper. Hell, I would even go for $510 instead of $530. Hopefully Newegg has them in stock by the time the 23rd rolls around.

I agree, my perdicament between both etailers is newegg charges tax

Newegg $499.99 + 7% NJ tax is $535.00 + shipping $7.50 ~$542.50
Tiger D $529.99 + 0% NJ tax is $529.99 + shipping $7.50 ~$536.50

I would usually buy from the egg because of awesome customer service but to find a card in stock at this point is to find one in stock!! :D (here's hoping I don't get screwed... again)

Go to Fatwallet and click through for 6% cashback at TD. Then you won't have to worry about the $20 price difference.

Thanks but the 6% click through cashback isn't showing up in the cart. Also I don't trust TG because people are saying they change the status from 'available' to '1-3 weeks' in forums. Are they really shipping these? They'd be the only ones online to have them available for 8 hours straight.

Partially true, but then again, NV could have built up stock until they felt they had a sufficient quantity to launch with without resulting in shortages.

That being said, I don't think it's really necessary to be too harsh on Nvidia here. This is pretty much the same thing that happens with every single desirable new product launch. The 7970 wasn't on shelves very long when it launched either.

Well, I can and do blame Nvidia and AMD when this sort of thing happens because its not as if they simply underestimated demand, they chose to launch the product early instead of making sure they had adequate stock. Nvidia knew they wouldn't have enough stock and they launched anyway to take some of AMD's sales away. It nothing more than a semi-hard launch. AMD does this as well and its frustrating also because it only hurts the consumer due to shortages and price gouging from retailers and resellers. In the end the consumer loses in this scenario especially if they give in to impatience.
