gtx 570 temp, what do I use to adjust fan speeds?

I just built a new system with a evga gtx 570, I'm wondering what my idle temp should be and if its high do I need to adjust the fan speed? I installed evga precision. I don't know if this is good to use or not. I use to use rivatuner awhile back and had fan profiles for my 8800gt. I'm curious if I need to do the same thing with this card. My gpu idle temp is 53c, the fan rpm is 1470, I haven't changed any settings. I think evga precision has fan profiles so do I need to set that up or what? thanks.

evga precision or msi afterburner are good choices. they are basically rivatuner with a new user interface.

for fan profiles I use 10degree increments. So if temp is 50C then fan speed is 50%. works well.

I just picked up a 570. It idles around 38c @1560rpm, in a 68f ambient room. Load is around 85.

thanks, does your fan speed go up and down constantly at certain temps? with rivatuner I would hear the fan go up and down all the time, the sound would really get on my nerves. I want to avoid that this time. would having more or less profiles fix that?

my room temp is about 75, do you have fan profiles or did you leave precision on auto?

I play games with headphones so I honestly dont notice it. Its a gradual increase in fan speed though

MSI Afterburner is what I use to monitor my GPU. As of right now my 580 is idling at 31c @ 1500-1530rpm. I use two profiles; the first one is the fan is set to the lowest fan speed possible (40%) in MSI for idle, the second one is with the fan set to 70% for any kind of games. with the 70% I never go over 60c when loaded.

after a couple hours of bf3 on ultra settings I'm getting 74c and 1860 fan rpm. should I leave it on auto or is 74c too high?

74c is perfectly acceptable. Above 85c and that's get me nervous.
