GTX 1080 and R9 295x2 SLI?

I got my GTX 1080 Sea Hawk X in a week or two ago, but the issue is my desktop system is in storage at my parents house till I close on my house (in two weeks)....I'm planning on selling my R9 295x2 when I finally get everything setup...but do you think I can throw in the GTX 1080 with it already just for Shits and Grins and do some mixed GPU testing under DX12 with Ashes of Singularity?

I think my PS puts out enough power to make this happen...see my specs below.
 
You can't use SLI with a 1080 and a 295x2 obviously, but the worst that's likely to happen is that it just doesn't work. I bet it at least kind of works, though.

I say try it and report back.
 
Does AoS support dx12's version of multi gpu support. I thought its up the devs to make sure there titles support this feature.
 
AotS does support DX12's EMA. It is the only game that does so far.
