Does anyone have some great mods that work with this patch? I'm looking for visual improvements, more variety (mainly with cars if possible), and minor gameplay enhancements. I already installed VisualIV and love it.

I tried the first person mod but I can't get it to work. Does this mod work with this patch?

Thanks!

I was wondering if ANY mods worked now with the latest patch and DLCs. For some reason I was under the impression the answer was no and there was plenty of justified anger over that.

I hope I'm totally wrong on that count.

VisualIV works: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=415952&st=0

I've also been eying Viva New York: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=439322. I'm not sure if it works on this patch or not, though.

From what I've gathered, the general opinion is that the new patch sucks: poor performance and broke mods. I would use an older patch but I have GTA IV on Steam.

Does replacing the car models still work? I was looking at one of the mod sites and I would love to replace all the cars with real world cars.

Are you posting about this mod: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=447013?

If so, here is a statement from the author of it: "good news i tested the pack with patch 7 and it worked flawlessly oddly enough i didn't have much of the taxi bug barely actually a better variety of traffic and this is on 1 gb ram and a pentium 4"

A word of caution on using car mods - They generally are larger in file size than the standard models (obviously) but the amount of memory the game utilizes for cars remains constant. Therefore by adding in car mods you reduce the variation in cars that you see. At the extreme end all you see are police cars and taxis, the less extreme end is just a greater concentration of that particular car when you drive it. This happens without and mods as well and is one thing i really hate about the game, adding mods just makes it worse. Just because I stole some guys inferno doesnt mean there are suddenly 500 of them in the city.....

No I was looking at individual car mods at:
http://www.gta4-mods.com/

I was kinda hoping someone had an all in one pack like the one you posted.

LOL yeah I hate that too. All the 3D GTA's suffered from that.

For First Person Mod to work with 1.0.7.0, you need:

The mod:
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=412129

You need Xliveless as this is the only ASI loader that works for this version so far.
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=388658

You also need to have this scripthook which is the only scripthook that works for this version so far.
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=390582

Just put the xlive.dll, scripthook.dll, FirstPerson.asi, and FirstPerson.ini all into the root GTA IV directory and you should be good to go.

To activate first person, double-tap change view.

I would be happy if the first person mod, enhanced textures mod, and AA mod all worked with the new patch (I know the creator of ENB Series said he wasn't interested in updating his mod since Rockstar's patches kept breaking it). Luckily I still have my physical copy that I can patch at will.

I asked this in another thread but I can't remember what the official answer was: if you download GTA IV from Steam does it come down with the 1.0.7.0 patch or does it auto-patch up to the latest version? If the latter is the case, you could download it and just untick the box that tells Steam to automatically keep the game up to date.

The moment I started the game for the first time it was already patched. I watched Steam download the game and did not even see when it download the newest patch.

Steam's version downloads patched already. All my mods work except ENBseries because the shaders are complicated to deal with. ENB almost works but I end up with the sky turning green sometimes

Damn, well thanks for the confirmation guys. Normally, having games download pre-patched is a good thing and a convenience of Steam but in this case it's a PITA since it breaks some of the older mods.

I decided to try Viva New York out and it works great. The new taxi and police car models created the taxi bug, but it is an optional installation anyways.

How do I get Xliveless to save my controller settings? It has issues with reverting vibration to off each time I restart the game. It also does not save my favorite radio station.

Also, is there a mod that creates numbered license plates for all vehicles instead of the stock plate? I found a couple mods that do this but they only add in one plate. Isn't there a mod that uses plates out of a batch amount?
