Graphics Card for Eyefinity 2007fp - 3007wfp - 2007fp

I've been reading all the articles and forums and I am a bit confused. My setup would be 2007fp portrait (1600 x 1200) - 3007wfp landscape (2560 x 1600) - 2007fp portrait (1600 x 1200). Would my setup be 5760 x 1600? If not how is resolution calculated? Also what video card is recommended for this setup? It seems like the 57xx series won't cut it especially for gaming. I see that a lot of users are choosing the 5850. Any tips or opinions are appreciated.

Your resolution would be 4960x1600. To get this you calculate the total number of horizontal pixels (in your case 1200 + 2560 + 1200 = 4960) and then you calculate the total number of vertical pixels (in your case 1600).

I would get at least a 5870, if not a 5970 or 2 5870s. Depends on what you play, really.

Thanks for explaining the resolution for me I forgot that the two side monitors are in portrait mode. Unfortunately I can't spend the money for a 5970 at the moment and will look at the 5870's. Will the 5850 really lag say during normal browsing, media, and fps games like L4D?

Eyefinity requires all monitors to have the same resolution.

Doh since the 3007wfp does not have a scaler it wouldn't work and I can't stand the ghosting and sparkle effect of the 3008wfp. The system I saw was not running Eyefinity but SoftTH.
