Got duel core but only see's one

Just got my new cpu 4400 and it is only finding one core help! : )

There is probably a utility that will allow you to do that.

You may also need to update your HAL (Hardware abstraction layer).

Go to your device manager and under computer you should see "ACPI Uniprocessor PC"

right click and choose update driver (like you would if you were installing a new device) and choose "ACPI Multiprocessor PC" when selecting a new driver.

Note: you may not have an "ACPI" HAL, if you don't have an ACPI HAL, dont change to an ACPI HAL, it must be like like, otherwise Windows won't like you any more.

Or you can use winflash (if you board supports it, go to your boards website to find out) a lot of board manufacturers are using windows to flash the BIOS to finally get rid of the floppy since thats all its good for now

so are you still stuck with only one core visible? Are you looking at CPUz or the Task Manager? Are you vehemently opposed to a WinXP reinstall?
