Hi guys,
I just got into something really strange here and hoping for some insights:
I received my new Chase Ink card (new account) just today, Nov 17 (picked it up from mail box just about 1 hour ago). Then setup the online account & activated the card about 30 mins ago.
Then I already saw there is a $100+ pending charge made yesterday, Nov 16 paid to COMCAST CALIFORNIA, so it is most likely not a physical copy.
It is certainly a fraud but I just see how can it have happened because:
1: I literally just pick up the card from mailbox a hour ago. And it was about 2 hours ago the card had not arrived yet. So I'd say the envelop only stayed in the mailbox for less than 30 mins, which is locked of course.
2: the card was not even activated yet yesterday, when the charge was made.
3: the envelop was sealed well and did not look like has been tempered with.
Any1 ever experienced something similar? Although I have called Chase and closed that card and they are sending me a new one, I'd really like to know how it happened otherwise this could go on.
