It’s literally like .08% of the US and yet if someone complains about IDK a flag being somewhere or a book they don’t like, everyone bends over backwards to “not offend”, that’s like 1000 people are in a room, 999 want to go one direction, the lone person wants to go a different direction, starts crying and half thr group shames the other half to follow the one...right off a cliff. Let’s use some common sense people!

I don't think it matters about if they are fat, skinny, in the middle, people will complain about something.
 
If you look on twitter its pretty much only women complaining about this, anything weight related its always women getting upset.
If i had a nickle for every time i heard women "complementing" each other if they lost weight i'd be rich.
 
Even as someone who knows that BMI is based on junk science and you can in fact be healthy at 250+ pounds I just don't see the harm in encouraging people to do some fucking exercise I do think shaming people or acting like your a time bomb because your overweight is ridiculous, but every single one of us (or at least 90% of us) could benefit from getting a little more exercise and making a few more healthy meal choices on a daily basis. The fact that people make google into some sort of monster for suggesting that people get out an d walk a little bit is fucking insane.

This is actually a misconception, while yes there are health issues related to having a high body fat count, having a lot of weight still puts an undue amount of stress on your heart and other organs and you can have a lot of similar health problems as someone who's obese and not very muscular.

Non suicide gun deaths in the US are about 12,000 per year. Estimates of deaths due to obesity range from 100,000 ~ >300,000 per year. Exact death by fat numbers are hard to pin down since a heart attack might be cause by too much weight or some other factor. Given that >500,000 folks die from heart problems per year, the death by fat rate may be a lot higher then current estimates.

If the SJWs really cared about lowering the death rate, they would be doing everything they could TO fat shame fat people.

I'm glad this great country supports two completely opposite ideals. Every time I want to slam SJW, I don't even need to look anywhere to see why the other side are not all roses just by reading the [H] comments. That a topic about being healthy can trigger a "trans" comment is all that needs to be said.

Speaking anecdotally, I see many more elderly smokers than I do elderly obese people, so I'd say the cupcake is deadlier than the cigarette.

Its going to be so fun at 65 years old, when im the only one who can stand up, or even find someone else who is 65. Its kinda scary if you think about it. At any age, there is about 4 million people around that age till about 60 years old. By 72 half are ded. And that was the healthy corn fed folk before the boomers took over. Id say for millennials 2/3 are going to be dead before 69 years old.

In our country, these people are called 'liberals' or 'progressives.' You're right, that's a misnomer or at least not what the term means politically in Britain where it originated. Regardless, they are squarely on the political left. In our country, people who are in favor of individual freedoms are libertarians.

The thing is, if they are 'deluded extremist nutjobs,' they are awfully prevalent on college campuses, not only as students but as professors and administrators. I certainly agree that they are wrong and awful but sadly they are not just a fringe group that can be easily dismissed.

The slight issue I have with your statement is that you basically claiming that at a certain size you are always going to be 100% healthy and never have any problems, where as over is the reverse. Unfortunately that isn't true. There are 17 year old athletes that die from heart attacks in the middle of events who are in perfect shape, and then there are 50 year olds who are 100lbs over weight but have no heart issues or other signs of trouble outside of their weight being over a certain level. I am not going to say that you can be extremely over weight or that there is an issue with being in shape, however every body is different so there are ranges that are going to be different for each person as to what can allow them to be "healthy" still. One person can drink all the time and their liver somehow be fine, another can drink half as much and their liver be shot. Some people can smoke a pack a day and be fine, others can smoke 1 pack a week and get cancer. A large portion of my family is diabetic, and yet I live off of sugar and mountain dew. Some people are going to be skinny and still have issues with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and other issues like that, and then you are going to have people that have extra weight but have no issues or only slight issues. So there is no single weight that if you get too you know that you will be 100% healthy with zero change of any chance of medical issues. So to that degree you can be healthy at a range of weights depending on your body, life style and genes.
 
As a pretty fat dude, I take responsibility for my body. I don't need body positivity. I work with lots of people from China and Hong Kong, and they will straight up call me fatass, as they are pretty honest, culturally. I laugh because I don't need a false sense of positivity to make me feel comfortable being unhealthy.

That said, I am trying to lose weight, and that cupcake feature sounds pretty cute and useful.

The difference is those companies wont be offending random people they care about. Key word is care. They are in the business of fitness and selling a fit body someone who doesn't want to be fit isn't going to cause bowflex to lose sales because their commercial had a girl in a bikini. Google is in the business of mining your data and to do that they need to avoid offending as many people as possible if they don't want those people to boycott their products. Since a large portion of the population will identify with being over weight it was a bad move this is one of the things you must deal with when you become a mega company like google. You have to walk a very fine line and rarely take any stand. You do something conservative you piss off 30% of your customers, do something liberal you piss off the other 30%. Just be like Steve Jobs and never stand for anything but selling your own products and you have a good formula.

BTW just for the record body shaming doesn't really help almost no one who has issues with weight responds positively to being shamed. Its just the way the human brain works as odd as it may sound. Telling people not to do something is basically telling them to do it. Right? the media told people not to vote for Trump and look what happened =] I have in recent years come to fully appreciate how your choice of words means so much to many people. If google had reprogrammed it to simply be complementing when someone did walk a long distance it probably would have went over much better. Something like a cupcake shows up when you take the longest walk you have that week and says how much you walked, how many calories you burned and congratulates you.
