I wonder why Google needs more time to respond to EU antitrust charges? They are probably working on a compromise or some sort of deal and they need time to hammer out the details. Other than that, you'd think Google's legal team would be ready roll by now.
The U.S. tech giant had been due to file a response by Tuesday but said it needed more time and will now reply by Oct. 7, a Commission spokesman said, the third extension of the deadline. The Commission in April accused Google of harming consumers because it required mobile phone makers to pre-install Google Search and the Google Chrome browser on their smartphones to access other Google apps.
