In today’s feel-good story, Sundar Pichai has penned a letter back to a 7-year-old girl who wanted a job at Google after her dad advised her that the company’s perks included bean bags and go karts. This is the part where I should talk about how Sundar is a cool guy, but being a pessimist, I will call out the Google CEO for having too much free time on his hands. Maybe he should use some of that energy to can terrible ideas like Allo.

"Thank you so much for your letter. I'm glad that you like computers and robots, and hope that you will continue to learn about technology. "I think if you keep working hard and following your dreams, you can accomplish everything you set your mind to - from working at Google to swimming at the Olympics. "I look forward to receiving your job application when you are finished with school! :) "All the best to you and your family."

Wow, sounds almost just like the last time an HR rep turned me down for a job position

    Oh of course !

It's cause he just turned her down for a job position

Ahhh, the joys of rejection at age 7

Getting a rejection letter from the CEO is cool and all but, if a 9 year old girl can wrestle Kenny Omega, then I think a 7 year old can work at Google for a day.

You have to have like 9000 interviews before you can start though.

When my girls were seven, go-karts would have been pretty high in their criteria for potential employers as well.

Plus dolls that could be sharpened, improvised weapons were a plus as well.

Bunch of savages, just like their mother.

7-year old girl should have pretended to be a 7-year old boy. Probably would have got a job.

While I guess not totally different than telling a kid to write a letter to Santa Claus, it is, because its actually something real. But its like saying, please give me something for...having done nothing. I won't even use the buzzword. Parents who do this to their kids aren't teaching the right lesson. They should be ashamed in my opinion. Sure it makes a cool headline, but that's just for getting attention which is ultimately only selfish. But hey, do whatever to get ahead, right?
