No more articles, reviews ect? This was THE site I went to for the latest.
Any recommended replacement sites? Just remembered--My first tech news site/forum I was a member of--Overclockers
It's not "ect", it's "etc" - the abbreviation for the word "etcetera".
A very good place to find information about the reliability of computers, laptops, or washing machines is consumerreports.org.
Noooooooooooo...My world know longer makes cents two me now! Ahhhh!
gotta give Kyle props on this as he actually took the time to make sure the forum would live on... most sites would have been gone with a 404 error page not found type of deal..
edit: I can't spell
Seems so strange to see the site like this, been coming here for reviews since about 2000.
Good luck to Intel and AMD catching up, as NVIDIA quietly released the RTX 2090 just a few days ago, with the artifacting issue fixed:
Its so weird. I still have the habit of going to hardocp.com during my daily "news gatherings" web crawl. This is usually hardocp, followed by engadget, wccftech, anandtech, theverge, extremetech. Hardocp has been a part of that for over 15 years. Its so odd I still come to the front page out of habit. Each time, I am saddened by the loss but am happy for kyle. Truly an end of the era.
I will say I got the balls to build my first PC primarily due to [H], and have been ever since. I think back in 2000 my main 3 tech sites were [H]ard|OCP, SharkeyExtreme, and Rage3D,,,and now my childhood is officially over.
and NVnews way back when
Yeah I pretty much lived there, good group of folks..
Just deleted my HardOCP bookmark on my browser. I was like, "Why is that still there." Made me sad.
So... make any new friends? How are the restrooms? Cafeteria? Any 'sleep pods' like what Google has?
Kyle its time to post your intel id mugshot
Maybe you still want to return to HardOCP?
Be hilarious if they him use the old photo with the toy on his head
You mean the plush Half-Life headcrab?
It's actually "et cetera"....and is a Latin expression, not a word.
Still have two of the original run HeadCrab hats.
So a very good first week "at" Intel. I have been working remotely. My boss was out of town, and he wanted to be on the ground with me in the offices to make introductions. Got all the mundane training out of the way this afternoon. Surely learned some things though.
Yesterday, I finally felt like I was doing something. Started moving out on my own a bit, as I know my mission. Was waiting to see if the boss-unit was good with it or slapped my hand. "That is why I hired you!" Good news there.
Interestingly, a lot of enthusiasts have reached out to me this week to welcome me aboard Intel from the inside. Lots of "us" here at Intel for sure, which is great to know, and I hope to get some of those folks interfacing with the community as well in the future.
While I can't really talk about our exact plans yet, you can bet we are approaching this with an enthusiast angle, and it seems that there are a few folks up the corporate ladder that are excited with our ideas in how to approach this. Fostering a true enthusiast community relationship is why they hired me. And that in a nutshell is my entire job. Everything is looking excellent so far.
Just FYI, I did NOT write that...but it is still funny as all get-out.
It makes for good barroom banter. "Oh yeah, but do you have your own Urban Dictionary page?" Whips phone out.
Congratulations on the move! Going to miss HardOCP news - I've been reading for over a decade, and thanks for that. Will transition to the forums now.
I was having some fun, lol, and yes, you can write "etcetera" as one word. Grammarly agrees as well.
i'm sad to see you go noticed other media sites are also reporting on it
hardocp has been over the many years my main go to for pc or tech news in general. you tend to capture the most important highlights or relevant news and rarely is the site left to stagnate (although the chair reviews is very niche, it was still enjoyable seeing your insights on them )
at a loss now where to go
i'll keep you in my bookmark list forever!
Now that ruined my day :/ But hey 9 Years worth of Pony and 22 Years worth of [H] we had a guod run in both cases
The German language site was blue. Is that the logo from there or did you make that?
I've been reading Hardocp for so many years. Together with Anandtech and Tom's hardware (back in the days when it was good, before Tom sold it). Thanks Kyle Bennett for your independent reviews. Sad to see the most trusted sites disappear. The golden age of the PC is behind us. I wish you an exciting journey at Intel (even if Amd will probably my next proc brand when my Intel ES procs become too unstable ^^).
Congrats and good luck!
Best of luck Kyle. I'll miss you giving major players the finger.
Sad to see HardOCP go...When it's time for me to upgrade this site was always the first one to come to for reviews....where the hell am I suppose to got now???? Dam it!!!
Sad to see you go but happy for you and intel.
Thanks to everything I've learned at HardOCP I'm building 9900Ks out of sand in my bunker. I remember the good old days designing logos for Steve @ Cases Etc. Glad to see the site isn't being auctioned off, and will continue to exist with its original content, as a monument and testament to many eras in desktop computing history. One of my first builds was the Slot 1 Pentium 3 300MHz which I was overclocking to 500MHz with the stock cooler on the Abit BH6, at the beginning of the jumper-less era.
Same here, forums are still here so bookmark those. Very happy Kyle will continue posting here.
So jayztwocents won?
